Its a Town of East Fremantle facility. They control and manage it and put in a lot of money.
Not just the oval but everything there
Very small council with a tiny minority who always be a pain in the ass.

This is from one of the councillors electoral statements. No idea who is so actively against us

My priorities are issues important to Plympton residents, particularly planned developments,
traffic management and parking. Similarly I will take a strong interest in the Oval
redevelopment and other issues affecting our Town.

Murdock, Baskerville and Jansen top 3 in the Lynn on Friday night. 2nd Lynn for Murdock, well deserved.

A few of the retired boys have dropped off EF playing list, as well as a couple reserves premiership players.....all expected losses.....with Strnadica coming on....no doubt with more ins and outs to come.

Cockburn Arc or Fremantle oval.

Let the East Fremantle council for a white elephant.
Fremantle oval sounds good. It’s not like they haven’t shared the oval before and could add a bit more spice to derby days. Fk EF council, they’re just being a…holes. I think we could get more revenue there than at a an oval without fencing, without real council support and wouldn’t really be giving a home ground feeling.

Sent emails to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Mayor seems reasonable but the deputy mayor isn’t.

As for the fence, my local club has a fence in outer Melbourne. They have it the gates unlocked during the week and on game day they have the gates locked.

I really don’t see the issue apart from dog crap on the oval. Which isn’t an issue at Pakenham.

Fremantle oval.

Fremantle oval sounds good
Doesn't look likely

Council endorses hundreds of apartments, upgraded grandstand in Fremantle Oval master plan

An ambitious plan for Fremantle Oval to serve as the WA hub of women’s football and a second-tier facility to Optus Stadium has progressed after the Fremantle City council endorsed a master plan on Wednesday night.

When completed, the new Fremantle Oval would be capable of hosting the AFL’s gather round WAFLW and AFLW finals and pre-season AFL games.

The multi-million-dollar plans span an arrival plaza, grandstand seating for up to 12,500 patrons, a health club, child care and about 240 new dwellings to revitalise the port city’s major asset by 2029.

The revamp of the oval would also categorise the football facility as Australian Rules category four and as a State Government tier two destination — which are currently in shortage across WA.

On Wednesday, Fremantle mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge said there was a “genuine risk” to local sport if plans were not progressed.

“If we aren’t able to provide better sporting facilities at the new oval we genuinely do risk losing the sporting content that we have there,” she said.

The Fremantle Oval Precinct Redevelopment Masterplan is open for public comment until 5pm on Wednesday 6 November 2024 at mysay.fremantle.wa.gov.au

A timeline for the development — which is being delivered in partnership with the South Fremantle Football Club, Fremantle Football Club and WA Football Commission — tips construction kicking off in 2026 and wrapping up in 2029.

East Fremantle Football Club is excited to announce that Kyle Baskerville has been appointed as the captain of the Senior Men’s team for the 2025 season, following the retirement of long-standing captain Matthew Jupp.

Reflecting on his new role, Baskerville said: "It’s an incredible honour to be named captain of East Fremantle Football Club. I’m grateful for the support of my teammates and the coaching staff, and I’m excited to lead the Sharks into what promises to be a strong season in 2025."

Baskerville, who was recruited from Winnacott Junior Football Club, made his League debut for the Sharks in 2019 and is set to play his 100th League game next year. His exceptional performances on the field have been widely recognised, with Baskerville named Lynn Medallist in 2021 and being the runner-up in the 2024 Lynn Medal Count.

Great choice....goes under the radar with his minimum fuss approach. Hopefully a strong indicator the core playing group will stay on board....heard EF will be doing their preseason at Shark Park and admin will be moving in soon.

Back Home For East Fremantle Sharks And Footy Fans

  • New community park now the home of the East Fremantle Football Club and other sports
  • The facility is a major hub for sports, leisure and recreation
  • Project was a WA Government election commitment
Works on the East Fremantle Community Park are now complete, with the Sharks Football Club moving into the $34 million, state-of-the-art facility this week.

The redevelopment of the oval was a State Government election commitment and includes a redeveloped football oval and floodlighting, a new synthetic bowling green, unisex change rooms, a dog exercise area, a skate zone, community gardens, a commercial gym, caf, bar, kitchen and function rooms.

With $26 million in State Government funding, the $34 million facility is now an integrated community and sporting precinct. Apart from being the home for the East Fremantle Football Club, East Fremantle Bowling Club and East Fremantle Croquet Club, the park also features half-court basketball, and an all-abilities nature play space.

Additional Government funding of $340,000 will assist the Sharks with relocation and fit-out costs, including a new video scoreboard, signage and some temporary game day infrastructure.

Comments attributed to Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman:

"I would like to give a warm welcome to the East Fremantle Football Club on their return to their spiritual home in Moss Street. The players will soon be training and playing there and enjoy new modern facilities that will not just benefit the club, but also other sporting groups and the wider community.

"After a three-year absence, Sharks' fans will be delighted to see their team play once again at their original home ground in the 2025 season.

"I commend both the Sharks club and local council for finalising negotiations over lease and licence agreements so that footy can now return to East Fremantle in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility that will be a valuable asset for the local community.

"The East Fremantle Community Park is a space to keep everyone of all ages and abilities active, healthy, and connected."

Comments attributed to Bicton MLA Lisa O'Malley:

"I'm absolutely delighted to see this magnificent facility open to the public and home to the East Fremantle Football Club.

"This was one of my major election commitments in 2021 and it is just fantastic to see the community loving the open access and the shared use facilities."

Sanchez is now a SF player mate....can only think Urqhart and Blakiston in the mix for drafting....the former around the 40 - 50 mark, the latter a late late pick or a rookie pick....but agree good luck to all the EF boys putting their hand up in this year's draft.
