Couldn't really find a thread to talk about.

Was looking at our jumper number history and I find it odd how 30 isn't treated with great respect by the club. Matera is one of our greatest ever players but since his retirement back in 2002, only 84 games have been played in it. Nelson will crack 50 this week.

Interesting how none these players were big name recruits or high draft picks.

I think there's a bias toward low numbers amongst players. 24 hasn't been that amazing either, considering it was worn by our captain in our pioneering premiership win. Compare these to 3,4,9 etc

I've never understood players who change numbers during their career. Don't remember Gardiner in #19, he must have changed numbers several times during his career.

Gardy wore #19 from 1997 to 2000 (not 2002-2003 as the table a few posts above says).

Weird when the number of a great becomes a bit of a nothing jumper.

28 was Lewie Lewie, then high draft pick and fellow curly haired indigenous forward Sampi. Then it just sort of went into the rotation.

#20 is sitting on 9 AAs, possibly 10 thus year. That'll take some catching.

#7 is interesting. Phil Markle didn't play a lot of footy for WC but Gehrig, Turley, Fletcher, Masten... That's a lot of whipping boy right there.
