This thread is going to take anyone who reads it to a dark place probably, but if you want to get stuff off your chest by all means.

Here are a few of my initial ideas, some universal and some maybe controversial, who knows. Honestly don’t know where to start

1. Oliver trade should have been properly considered end of 2023 - I love him but would have been better for us to do it, and maybe both parties.

2. Viney contract. I get the environment where you need to offer talented young players high risk contracts to get them across the line against fierce competition, but what was that deal achieving exactly?

3. (Controversial?) Should have looked closely at what we might get in a Petracca trade after he announced wanting out. A pissed off player, or confused player, isn’t helping us and won’t going forward, and it’s hurting both parties. Hard to watch.

4. Not giving Glen Bartlett whatever he wanted when he first started screaming. Payout, acknowledgement whatever. We dished up in the end anyway, paid stupid legal costs for no result and had a media cloud hang about for years.

5. Cheer louder / Demon spirit etc. You get the drift.

I could list 25 more with ease but I’ll sit back and let you take your turn. For the record though, Harvest Snaps is one of our wins of late.

Extending Goody pre 2023 finals :madv1:
Giving Gus the contract we did :madv1:

Will save some for others and come back later if they havent been posted.
That’s what I’m doing.

There is a pretty long list we have going right now

I don’t want to call it dumb, but rather something we’d change in hindsight in relation to recent trades;

Take whatever we could get for Petty at the end of 2023.

Trading for Grundy as a forward, then letting him go too cheap.

Bringing in Fullerton and McAdam.

Not restructuring the midfield in good time to meet a modern game plan of run and carry - risk taking from the back half.

We've made a lot of dumb trades but we basically got back what we traded for him, don't think it was too cheap at all.

The Oliver contract when they knew he was ****ing up off-field is staggering to me, and probably the worst decision we've made outside Goodwin related stuff.

Announcing after 2021 that we were going to do it all again at the G then sooking about how much pressure that put on everyone.

The entire Christian Petracca injury saga.
  • The decision to send him back on
  • Continually refusing to rule him out from returning the same year
  • The club, in particular Kate Roffey, not bothering to check in with him or his family in the aftermath
  • The mixed and bizarre messaging about if he was or wasn't happy, had or had not been spoken to, did or did not want to seek a trade, what wider issues he had with the club and performance
  • The entire Kate Roffey interview disaster that followed

Firstly, great ****en thread.

Secondly, every trade Lamb has touched.

Starting with trading picks 14, 27 and 35 for pick 11 (Which became pick 13), to take a player who would have been available anyway and ending with stockpiling trash NQR tall forwards and neglecting small forwards when that’s where the game has gone.

Look at you, learning to collaborate! 🤗

Not taking that Adelaide offer for Petty would be close to the podium of dumb decisions.

Gus and Oliver contracts. Extending Viney. Dumb

Extending Goodwin when there were clear issues he wasn't addressing. Dumb.

Persisting with Lamb as list manager. He's a cop FFS. Has destroyed what was a great list. Not one trade has worked out since Langdon. At least Caro has finally highlighted how bad it's been. Has thrown away several decent picks unnecessarily imo where surely we could trust JT to hit on a couple of these 2nd rounders. Dumb

Fitness/injuries. On the fence with this. But how poor has our fitness staff been since Burgess left. Sending injured players out to play. Fitness levels seemingly gotten worse every season. Players coming back too soon. Maybe it was a dumb decision to trust in Selwyn to step up with an elite list? Maybe a dumb decision to not scope out a better option while in the window. On the fence with this one, but it's been frustrating.
