Have also heard that rambo and annakis walked out during the week. Doncaster have asked to drop down a division and will only be able to have one senior team this year no ressies or 18s. Croydon have been asked to come up to division 1 apparently.

My mail tells me that going into recess is highly likely.

Unfortunately the club is in dire straits and pretty much in a position where the doors should close.

Really sad situation. Not that many years ago where Doncaster were in the top division and Doncaster East were a middle of the road side in a lower division.

Changing populations and kids either playing with private schools or other sports in the area has certainly had an impact and it’s finally come to a head.

I was told it was division 4 or recess with the latter the preferred option at this time Crusey.

Many players have moved on and Healesville FNC has been a major beneficiary.

Really sad state of affairs for a traditional EFNL club. It won’t be the last one as many clubs are in trouble.
 
I don’t get it. If they are in trouble why no call to arms - plenty of supporters / past players etc to get behind the club? Are they too proud to take that step? Nunawading was the last club to ask to drop down grades and we know how that’s ended.

It’s been coming for a while. If you have been to a Doncaster game in recent times there are very few supporters and a small and committed group keeping the club going. Has been a battle for many years to field 2 senior teams and despite the clubs best efforts, putting an unders team together has been impossible.
 
Hopefully the EFL or Doncaster come out tomorrow/this week and put the rumours to bed. One way or another. The speculation isn’t helpful for anyone.

Just looking at the clubs Facebook pages, Mulgrave recently announced their Under 19's captain & vice captain whereas Croydon where putting a call out for more players.
 
I don't think any club wants to go up to Div 1. Not this underprepared. The EFL should really be looking at the clubs in Prem, Div 1, Div 2 that are struggling to either have a reserves or under 19s. If your in a high Grade and can't get 3 sides together it's a slippery slope
Doncaster Prime Example. Donvale in previous years. Norwood on a similar path. East Burwood a decade ago went back to 4th div. If your not investing in the youth these days your eventually going to go down the gurgler

Or do a Boronia and poach over 20 u17 and 19s players from neighbouring clubs so you can get your own 19s team.

Donvale is most ridiculous relegation story ever, so you can’t say they don’t deserve it

Finished behind EB (who were promoted) by 3% in a shortened season

Won GF, no promotion

I wonder if they have asked a div 4 club to go up to div 3? or they are just going to put Doncaster in Division 3
