I once spoke to a Detective (not in a work setting) who told me his wife gets cranky with him when they’re out together because they can’t go anywhere without him having his antennas up, scanning the place/who’s there/what they’re doing.
He said it was something he couldn’t switch off even though he wasn’t at work.
Surely Jubelin’s antennas would also always be up.
Is antenna a euphemism?

In GJ’s ‘I catch killers’ book, he stated that after leaving the cops, FM called him often, despite both of them being told not to talk to each other.
She told GJ the police were shitbagging him to her, saying that he was a bad detective, that had mental health problems.

Was FM being a wonderful friend or just a devious trouble maker stirring the already boiling pot unnecessarily? I wonder whether GJ feels an unhealthy and unwarranted gratitude to FM. IMO
GJ should have followed that statement up and got his $10k back

Just one antenna.

Jubes should not be short of a few quid. He joined NSWPOL in 1985 which would have placed him in a very lucrative defined benefits superannuation scheme. He resigned, was not sacked after over 30 years service. The $10k fine would be insignificant compared to the public disgrace and loss of face.

Nooo!
If my friend was repeating horrible things someone was saying about me I’d tell them to stop or distance myself from them.
Surely Jubelin has more self esteem than accepting this and thinking FM’s his confidant.
Either he is acting out the most ambitious and intricate 'sting' operation ever conducted by NSWPOL or he has lost all sense of self-esteem and good judgement. IMO

Could be either but probably more in between.
Maybe he can’t let go of this case and is still persuing it in his own way.
Jubelin has dealt with the biggest most violent criminals in history.
I don’t believe FM would have it over him even if FM thinks she has.

That's where the saying "they're always on the job" comes from imo. I know one who used to stalk his neighbourhood charging up and down the street with his chest puffed out spying on people when he got home from work.

Eventually, he was jumped and got beaten up.

They possibly thought he was a stalker!😁😁

Totally agree.

If you selectively piece together a few of Savage's ramblings, you can create a narrative that is quite worrying. Coupled with his missing 2 hours "drinking tea" on the day of disappearance.

Personally, as with the FM, I don't think he was capable of doing something without making mistakes. That type of offence by a 70 year old man who struggled to think straight, would leave obvious signs IMO. The trouble is, he can't be 100% eliminated based on what we know.

I would be a lot more interested in his vague mention of the 2 boys. Was this taken seriously? Did he answer honestly - he seems prone to lying for no apparent reason? If 2 (or 1 of the) boys grabbed William from the edge of the property and took off into the bush, Savage is potentially the only witness.

The dog non-reaction (outside the property) is the only thing that says this didn't happen. That is a lot of reliance to place on an over-worked, tick-riddled animal, in a compromised environment, that is historically proven to not be 100% reliable to begin with, IMO.
I’ve often considered that Savage may have seen something and was scared

Sounds like “splitting behaviour” to me - such info makes sure a person doesn’t keep connection with their previous daily connections IMO

Sounds like strange behaviour.
I’ve been researching the Fitzgerald inquiry.
They’re not all good or smart.

Do we think the Coroner will change mind that William may not have been removed in a vehicle?

We haven't jumped on the 'blame FM bandwagon', the cops have squarely pointed the finger and it's this that is the Coroner's focus.

But yet, right through this thread other possibilities are also being discussed while there's a pause.
IMO the whole latest tranche of the inquest is based around the FM and her drive that morning. All of it.

Apart from the random truck driver.
