Highly rated in his draft year if I recall correctly, a lot of people had him in their fantasy league teams and were bitterly disappointed.

Seedsman MkII?

Liked his comment about loving to run and carry the footy. Agree he's got the Bob Murphy look about him.

If we are targeting Golds and Dalgleish in this years draft/rookie periods we would be adding two players with outside pace to burn :fire:

A rookie draft of Dalgleish, Golds and Abbott would be alright.

lol about Luke Rounds as our entrant in that GF sprint o_O
He played at Balwyn Tigers in the juniors. His dad James is development and player welfare guy at Carlton.

Taken as a 17 year old. So agree he would of been Highly Rated as a 17 year old

Disposal efficiency this year in the NEAFL was 80.5% (ave 17 possessions). I like the sound of that. Good ball users please Mr Hine.
I probably need to see more of him before I am convinced that he is a player that can make the grade. The up side is he has reasonable pace and likes to run with the football.

A stand-out in schoolboy athletics, Golds was the first player to join GWS as one of its priority 17-year-olds. Having represented Xavier College and Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup, a badly broken ankle limited his progress. But an appearance in the 100m sprint on Grand Final day showed the gifted athlete had fully recovered.

The Silvagni boys go to Xavier so SOS would have seen a fair bit of him during school carnivals as well. Interesting Carlton are not keen or does that mean SOS does not rate him?

It really was amateurish to pick a first time list manager for a club that stood to have access to the greatest assortment of talent available to any club in the history of the game. It was the most important appointment at that club. They needed an experienced operator.

It was a dumb career decision to leave, though. GWS are almost certainly going to be challenging over the next six to eight years. He had an opportunity to build a legacy and establish a reputation early on. Success was almost assured. If I know Carlton, he is now almost guaranteed to fail!

Though Clayton has not done much better Job then SOS has

I don't think many people rate SOS as a recruiter
I know he has not set the world on fire with his recruiting hence why GWS were looking to replace/provide him with better support. SOS got his nose out of joint and moved on.

The gig at Carlton was a piece offering after more than a decade apposed to one another. SOS reuniting with Carlton has a touch of the KB's about it.
