I like the little dig at Brasher. Very justified too.

I like how he has put his hand up admitting his mistakes without corporate 'weasel' words.

He is navigating a club political minefield with the media spotlight shining on him.

I like his style. Maybe because he doesn't have the modern day polish.

Doesn't mean he will prevail at a place like the EFC.

I wish him luck.

Brash style?

It’s not like GWS is paying him a pittance they would have a competive offer. If he signed a shorter deal can always sign a bigger one in a few years with higher cap and come out in front

I think I heard that the offer was $17m/10 years. That’s a heck of a lot of security to turn down. GWS certainly wouldn’t be able to get close to the $1.7m per year kinda average figure you’d have to think.

I’d assume he’d only take a 4-5 year deal, to take him through to UFA

Sure it’s a lot of money but wtf would you want to play for the saints ffs! Those saints could go to hell for all I care!

I'm sure journos and/or agents are adding a bit of mayo to the story. "Saints throwing stupid money to land big fish /saints get rejected by big fish" is one of the media's favourite click bait doubles along with "bombers primed to break the drought this year/bombers fail to live up to the unrealistic hype we generated"

"It's so amazing to me that Jamarra goes #1, the AFL kneejerkedly disallows first round academy selection, then after it's ****ed over us and Melbourne, they immediately pivot back because Essendon have one coming through. Beyond ridiculous. Kako should've gone in the open draft or Sanders and Andrew should've gone to North and Melbourne."

From a Norf supporter. A club with how many #1 picks?

Sanders was also not in their NGA

How is Will Setterfield still on a list? Got to be a record tenure for someone who's scared of his own shadow

Of all you could say about Setterfield...

“Melbourne president Brad Green says the Demons want three first-round draft picks or a top-line player component in any end-of-season trade for dynamite playmaker Kysaiah Pickett.”

"Also, has anybody heard the media or fans kick up a stink that Essendon picked up a good player where they did in the draft and nobody else could touch him as he was tied to their academy? Because I’m pretty sure it was a hot topic in previous years when some clubs had priority access to academies and the whole thing was unfair…"
It's almost as if four teams having an untouchable academy while the other fourteen can have their players snapped up by rivals before pick #40 is grossly unfair and all eighteen clubs having the same rule is the definition of fair. Hard to comprehend, really.
