If we delist/trade Clarke and just say a team like Collingwood picks him up for like a 3rd round pick, I think that Malthouse or someone would be able to turn him around, He can find the ball except can't kick straight under pressure. Maybe he's worth more then a 3rd round pick?

I agree, but it won't be Collingwood picking him up. A desperate Carlton perhaps.

Not worth a thing.

Delist him or throw him into a trade deal. I don't really care, just **** him off.
I don't think we'll just delist Clarke without trying to get something in return, simply because we don't have enough experienced players at our club to just get rid of one for nothing.

Clarke is not the type of experienced player we need. He is not going to lead or inspire anyone and wont even be able to crack into the team next year. He should be shown the door.

Either that or they can't afford to get rid of any experienced players for nothing in return. Clarke would only ever be back up to the senior team unless he miraculously learnt how to kick to his own players.

I can see your point but if they wanted to get rid of him I think they would rather than having somone on the list that they don't want, when there is the possibility to draft/trade for someone who is better and more suitable for the club.

Personally I want to see them give him one more year (at least) as I think he hasn't been too bad over the last few years (with the exception of this year!!!!). I've also seen him play a number of VFL matches throughout the year and was very impressed with his work ethic and the way he was talking to the kids ie; were to run to at stoppages etc etc

David Clarke is like Trent Croad. Both are athletes, but have no idea how to play footy.

Please - Clarke is like Croad? Croad actually has ability. I can never get over people who like to label certain players as 'athletes' and use that as a sweeping excuse as to why they just 'cant play'. Croad is quite talented. He is capable of taking a game apart. He has done so previously. If you seriously think he compares with Clarke, well, that is very interesting to say the least...

Yeah, i agree it worth trying to....just saying that we are probably wasting our time.
Nobody above us 1st-11th would bother cept maybe richmond :D
let alone collingwood. Heard they are rumored to be trying to get stevens & i nearly fell off my chair. They already have a nice midfield, so clarke wouldnt do anything, unless he wants 1-2 years of VFL football .
