Lol what do you are not allowed to have an opinion? What part do you disagree with? Is 5 goals from 8 games a good return? Is he better suited to playing in the ruck? Does he still require 2-3 years of development? Is he not 27? If you disagree state why instead of making shit posts.
All of those points result in a circular argument with you. Everyone knows your position on Cox.
Its just boring reading the same thing every day.

Yep and his starting to clunk some really strong contested marks...needs to play closer to goal.

He needs to play close to goal mostly because his range is maxed out at 30m. Very straight kick though.

Love that he’s finally clunking some contested marks. He used to barely be able to take an uncontested mark.

Back onto Lynch. His stats this year aren’t very good, certainly not those of a 1mil a year player.

How is Darcy a world beater yet Cox is a no hoper?. When you compare both of their stats they are similar.

Cox: K: 4.5; MK: 3.2; CM: 1.7; HB: 3.5; GL 1.2; BH: 0.6; HO: 10.7; TK: 2.2; 1%’s: 3.0 (27 games)
Moore: K: 6.0; MK: 4.8; CM: 1.6; HB: 3.3; GL 1.2; BH: 0.7; HO: 1.8; TK: 1.7; 1%’s: 2.0 (51 games). Moore's stats are no better than when he played TAC.

Exactly, preferably hanging around the square. I'm personally convinced Lynch will come to Pies, the cost is the worry if it eventuates.

The more I think about it, look at how much it’ll cost us, his output in the 7-8 years and his price, the more I’m getting put off the idea of trying for him.

Rory Sloane would cost a whole lot less and have a more consistent impact (based on form)

Sloane would also release a Pendles or Sidey to play a more permanent forward or HBF role.

Good point, midfielders at the moment are the new tall forwards. They are so good at winning one on one contests.

But come finals you still need a quality fwd target. Also now with so much congestion you end up with 30 players in your fwd 50 you need a good tall to take a contested mark or at worst bring it to ground.

With Lynch’s output this year, aside from Carlton game, he’s not worth 1.2m. At his age this is the year he should be starting to dominate.

Although he is on a dud team so you wonder what he could do with a decent midfield delivering him the ball with better quality and more fwd 50 entries.

Lots of if’s.
No one kicks a ton these days.
Plus, isn’t he a backman? Or has the coach got that wrong as well?
Perish the thought!
While the market may dictate the value, I’m still shocked that his current output puts him ahead of our Copeland winner. Who took unders to stay btw.
Darcy should also take unders for two years to repay the faith. If he explodes in that 24 months then all power to him.
But right now, as stated on 360 last night, we could use the money elsewhere if he wants to hold us to ransom.

Not much enthusiasm for Moore's recruitment on the Sydney Board.

A third round pick and Sanboy Chips contract is the 'generous' consensus. Despite our forward line being a mosquito fleet, there are a few talls in our pipeline.

Still it might happen, if not to the Swans, but another interstate club. The kid apparently wants out of the Pies and Melbourne. I think he is a talented youngster whose development to date and health has been problematic. He's a bit like Joe Daniher (who I think the Pies would be better looking at than Lynch fwiw).

I’ve heard this a few times and wouldn’t bet the farm on it as it is speculative. There is no history that shows the above to be the case. It’s something we all always say, but where is the evidence? The Vickery move to Hawthorn is a prime example of it not being true.

Good move Pies.....two years is perfect IMO.

Pies looking at two Moore years
By Jake Niall

Collingwood's offer for talented young key-position star Darcy Moore is only for two years, with talks expected to resume between Collingwood and his management once Moore has recovered from his latest hamstring setback and is back playing.

While there has been a pattern of talented younger players being secured on long-term deals, the Magpies have offered their most capable young key-position player a two-year deal, an offer that has been on the table since January.

Several clubs have enquired about Moore, including Sydney, but the Swans are considered a longshot to secure the key-position prospect, who will probably be missing until after the bye given that he has had two hamstring injuries already this year and the Pies have been extremely careful in managing him.

Collingwood is understood to be the only club to have made Moore a formal offer. The two-year offer is viewed as not disrespectful, even though Moore has not opted to sign yet. The short-term offer arguably reflects the reality that while Moore has not played much lately, his potential upside is enormous and a longer-term might not benefit him if he develops as the club hopes

Agree - presumably this is the first signs of prudent list management under Ned Guy. Hopefully gone are the days of signing up spuds to mega deals.

I’d be happy to revisit and put a longer term deal of say 3-4 years and on decent coin at the conclusion of his next contract, based on improved performance and time on the field

Vickery was special, Hawks also share it around their forward line a bit more than focusing on a single target to dominate.

There we go, a sensible story from a sensible journo with some actual facts.

Barrett choosing to leave out details running blind with the Pickering fed line of other clubs into him to try and put pressure on Collingwood to up their contract.

Darcy deserves 3yrs, we are club with zero tall talent aside from him, regardless of his hamstring injuries.

It’s also in our interest to sign him for 3yrs because he’s value is pretty low right now and we’d lock in a cheap deal.

The fact he doesn’t want to sign a 2yr deal shows he is worried as well. If he backed himself he’d sign a 2yr deal and play great footy that means he gets a mega deal at the end of those 2yrs when he’ll be in his prime.

Two years is fair for all parties IMO.

I thought it as Illegal oppostion Teams to offer Formal Contracts before Free Agency?

Probably a verbal agreement Dave......same thing just not on paper.

Just like Buddy getting agreeing to a 10 year contract at Sydney. Happens all the time.
