Current Membership Tally

If I were a supporter who figured having 1.6 more membership numbers, off shore assets, contractual aggreements with SPC baked beans & Spaghetti - the Bowral wildlife corporation, and ownership of some glorified cow paddock, were the be all and end all, I'd be so overjoyed with that figure. Thankfully I'm a football supporter, so I'm only marginally jovial. :);)

We've gone backwards in the HUN today.

We're on 22,600 apparently, backwards from 24,363.

Printed Essendons total membership as well around all the ticketed memberships. If Essendon can get away with it we'd like our total printed to be 30,180 total too thanks. :thumbsu:

Are you trying to tell me that you'd rather stay put and keep out supporters and members due to stadium capacity limitations, rather than travel 80kms down the road and play in the best stadiums in the country? Plus, as long as you are based in KP you will rarely play Friday or Sat night games which is where the big exposure and dollars are.
Buddy, you need to start looking at the bigger picture with a view to growing the club beyond a glorified country town, rather than just looking 5 feet in front of your nose.
But hey, whatever keeps you happy.

Well, I'm very happy with how Geelong is run. I love going to Kardinia Park for home games, and I really love the fact that we make $600,000 profit on every game there (and there's 8 of them this season). I like that.

We also get to play 9 games at the MCG and Telstra Dome to accommodate bigger crowds when it's warranted. And to gain experience on those grounds should we be good enough to play finals.

We also have 10 games on either Friday or Saturday nights this season, which allows us access to the "big exposure and dollars". Not sure if 10 games qualifiies as "rarely". I'd prefer the use the term "frequently".

Most of all, more than anything else, I really love the fact that the side I first starting following in 1977 still:

- Plays at the same home ground
- Wears the same jumper
- Is called by the same name, strangely enough of the town they are from

And is superbly run and profitable, meaning all 3 of the above attributes remain intact. I like that even more.

P.S. Congratulations to North Melbourne for exceeding your membership record. :thumbsu:

I thought at the moment the Kangaroos are including non-ticketed members in their membership tally? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...

So really you would have to take off 1-2k in members from their real tally. So its very possible they are not ahead of Richmond.

Its interesting that the last posted article didn't mention them being ahead of the Western Bulldogs. Is this an oversight or the Kangaroos ahead of only Richmond (which is very possibly wrong due to different counting methods) and ahead of Melbourne - out of the Victorian clubs.

No, we're still ahead of Footscray. And Brisbane and Sydney, too. But I'd ask why you give a shit. But I think we know the answer to that.

How many of these members would be supporters of other clubs trying to help out the NMFC? This years figures do not reflect the real support the NMFC have.

How many times is this crap going to be trotted out?

It would be in the hundreds. Our reserve seat requests have doubled. Our coterie take ups have doubled. We are 10k ahead of this time last year and have been "safe" for more than 3 months.

Why would the club say we have passed last year's official membership total (which doesn't include non-ticketed members) if we were including non-ticketed members in this year's total?

Also, last year we had approximately 2,500 gold coast members counted in our total and they are not counted this year.

26 years of SH!T, 25k members and on track to hit 30k (we had just over 30k last year and are approximately 1k ahead of this time last year)...3rd highest attendances last year, falling short of ONLY Collingwood & Essendon...oh, and that was in a wooden spoon 'winning' year...

Bandwagoners...I think not!!!

Carlton on the hand...where do I start??? Look in your own backyard 'ranger' before you make yourself look like the uneducated tool that you are...

It's literally not more than a thousand, and that is information from inside the club.

But I'll tell you what, when we pass 30,000 - I'll grab a list and we can give you say 500 of them?

Talk about glass ****ing houses.

The bottom 5.

Hawthorn have approx 28K. St Kilda I imagine would be sitting on somewhere between 25-29K

12. North Melbourne (25,000)
13. Richmond (23,000)
14. Western Bulldogs (21,000)
15. Brisbane (20,000)
16. Melbourne (19,000)
Our figure includes non ticketed, as does almost every club except Richmond and Footscray. It's only fair theirs are included too.

Lets get real. No one would collect data on this. No one would have any idea whether its 1, 10, 100, 1,000. No amount of insiders makes any difference. No one collects data on who is doing out of feeling sorry for the Roos.

So how many are non-ticketed members? 1000? So really you aren't ahead of the Tigers like stated. Its just your biased why of counting memberships. Based on the Kangaroos counting version the Tigers have 30k + members. The Kangaroos, having the biggest membership raising event in their history, are still 3rd last amongst Melbourne teams.
