I think your calculations are a bit off. It's a lot less than that. If it was a rectangle it would be 16500m2 vs 15200m2. So even less being an oval.

Every time I see the SCG and games there I swear the 50m line is being crept closer and closer to the goals.
May just be me being old and remembering when it genuinely wasn’t 50m, but I am unconvinced it is actually 50m nowadays.

I remember in the 90s The scg 50 touched the centre square then you looked at Subi and the gap between the 50m line and the square was huge

Area of an ellipse is = πab where a,b are the length of the semi major, semi minor axis, so....
MCG = π((160/2)*(141/2)) = abt 17,700m2
SCG = π((156/2)*(136/2)) = abt 16,500m2
So a difference of abt 1,200m2, which equates to 33m2 per player which is about roughly a 6x6m square

You are multiplying, basically, the major/minor DIAMETERS, you need to only use the RADIUS, IE half the diameter.
Check it against a circle which is πr^2 (π*(160/2)^2) = 20,000m2
