That’s amazing, thanks heaps! Need you to write a book at some point!Further to that, good some great info for you.
North Derwent and Upper Derwent were not the same club. They bore no relationship to each other at all.
Upper Derwent played at Bushy Park up until 1964 and then at Gretna from 1965 onwards and folded in 1986 when the STFA folded.
Founded in the mid-1880s and first played in organised competition football in 1904.
Wore a maroon with gold vee playing jumper.
North Derwent were first formed in 1984 to play in the Southern Tasmanian Football Association.
They were named so simply because they were based "North of the Derwent".
They played their home games at the Hamilton Showground (the Hamilton Football Club folded after the 1966 season), so that ground was available for use.
They had a choice of either Melbourne or North Melbourne playing jumpers, it was put to a vote and it was tied, the final casting vote was their president, Graeme Woodham, who was also mad North Melbourne supporter so, as expected, he voted for the North Melbourne jumpers and they were then named as the North Derwent Kangaroos.
The club lasted three seasons in the STFA before that competition folded and the club itself went into recess following the 1986 season.
In the 1990/1991 off season North Derwent came out of recess and joined the Tasman Football Association for the 1991 season, retaining the blue and white playing jumpers but adopted the nickname of the "Foresters" due to Triabunna already being in the TFA at the time and being known as the Kangaroos (maroon with a white vee).
In that first season they made the grand final but went down to Dodges Ferry by 40 points.
Following the 1994 season, North Derwent actually applied to join the Oatlands District FA as Swansea had joined the Tasman FA and that made travelling much more difficult for the club.
After a vote, they were knocked back and remained in the Tasman and ultimately left Hamilton in 1996 and played their final two seasons at Boyer Oval in New Norfolk.
On 19 September 1998, North Derwent ran out 18 point winners over Swansea, 11.15 (81) to 9.9 (63) in the grand final, their reserves also made it but went down to Richmond that day.
And that was the last day North Derwent ever set foot on a football ground – the club folded prior to the 1999 season.

Would you happen to know why so many of the old STFA clubs folded outright when the league finished instead of moving leagues or merging? Just seems odd when so many other leagues were still around at the time.
