I think a decision has been made for the future, my gut feeling is Clarko will not coach another club. 17 years is a long time, it won’t be easy an decision for him to commit to another club.
I don't disagree in regards to what you are saying about Clarko's connection to Hawks but I heard Sheedy state in a podcast (SACKED podcast I think) he always had an affinity and connection towards Essendon and was thrilled to coach them when the opportunity came up because he was a Bombers supporter growing up.I think he will sign on again when he talks about Hawthorn he know every bit of Hawthorn history I know his been at the club 17 years but it’s like he has become a Hawthorn Person. When Sheedy left Essendon and after some time coached GWS he still returned to Essendon after he retired from coaching he became a Essendon person even though he was Richmond to start with I feel Clarko is the same he is Hawthorn through and through now.
There were rumours that a massive story was about to break last year that Darren Glass and Shannon Hurn were caught in a compromising position by team mates. It’s hard to know what the reasons were for the Mitchell family moving home.
The rumours are very loud here in WA that the snake escaped from the cage BUT when an ‘outsider’ is involved here in Perth, there’s always a ‘reason’
WA people (& I must say I don’t mind this in some ways) are very patriotic
There’s not many football rumours I truly believe. There were rumours that a massive story was about to break last year that Darren Glass and Shannon Hurn were caught in a compromising position by team mates.
Not to many of these rumours have actually proven to be true.
Let the Clarkson issue not worry you. Was told Tuesday that his contract will not be extended so expect the indecision to continue.I love Burgoyne, thought he should of gone into the middle at some point, would not of hurt what was being put up. He isn’t retiring on that game or effort will go to top 3 on the games records shortly…
Few positives, a lot of negatives, thought the biggest issue for the game and something really pathetic was the effort in the first half, and we are devoid of players wanting to attack the game that it has such an impact on how we play, the worst part of the team it’s just so bad.
Here’s my two rants:
- Clarko has undone a lot of good work by bringing in players doing well with some form in the VFL to play positions they struggle in - direct impact on team balance, pressure and how we move the ball. This part here is the most worrisome for me.
- The umpires Are pathetic and if their is not some serious behind closed doors words being undertaken the players will lose out, the amount of blatant bullshit dinky frees paid against us vs clear frees not paid for us is a pathetic, and being at the game was even worst with the blatant holding and pushing on our forwards vs ports who got them paid off barely anything. I would back the players to switch off and just go the man for a game if it happens again - if their going to to pay that sh*t at least make them earn it the other way - that game is the worst I have seen
Yet.Let the Clarkson issue not worry you. Was told Tuesday that his contract will not be extended so expect the indecision to continue.
Hope this is not true. Never would I give up a generational Coach for an untried coach.Let the Clarkson issue not worry you. Was told Tuesday that his contract will not be extended so expect the indecision to continue.
That statement is even more worrisome.Let the Clarkson issue not worry you. Was told Tuesday that his contract will not be extended so expect the indecision to continue.
No he was told this week, it’s now over so we are looking for a new coach. Unbelievably it’s over an 18 month period given Clarkos current contract.Yet.
This is not quite true.Let the Clarkson issue not worry you. Was told Tuesday that his contract will not be extended so expect the indecision to continue.
A club telling a coach 12 months out that they’re a dead man walking....I don’t think so.No he was told this week, it’s now over so we are looking for a new coach. Unbelievably it’s over an 18 month period given Clarkos current contract.
Except against all reasonable assumption and I’d love to agree with you, your wrong and I’m right and I couldn’t wish more that I was wrong. How long Clarkson lasts not saying anything will be interesting.A club telling a coach 12 month out that they’re a dead man walking....I don’t think so.
So if your right and assuming he coaches us next year with a contract in place and takes us to the finals, we will still look for a new coach?? #ludicrousNo he was told this week, it’s now over so we are looking for a new coach. Unbelievably it’s over an 18 month period given Clarkos current contract.
Let the Clarkson issue not worry you. Was told Tuesday that his contract will not be extended so expect the indecision to continue.
I’m not sure on Malthouse timing but yes that’s the stupidity of it. He’s our greatest coach and he’s the greatest coach in the modern era not just Malthouse. 2022 is it regardless.Isn't that the way Malthouse went out? Last game was a GF right?
Would be incredible unprofessionalA club telling a coach 12 months out that they’re a dead man walking....I don’t think so.
Is that you, Tom Browne?Let the Clarkson issue not worry you. Was told Tuesday that his contract will not be extended so expect the indecision to continue.
And they told him that after we put together our best month of footy, during a week of celebration for Shaun’s 400th?I’m not sure on Malthouse timing but yes that’s the stupidity of it. He’s our greatest coach and he’s the greatest coach in the modern era not just Malthouse. 2022 is it regardless.
yep, And unbelievable. And they told him that after we put together our best month of footy, during a week of celebration for Shaun’s 400th?
“Step in here Al, we just want to let you know that you won’t be renewed at the end of 2022, ok? Right, so that’s all really. Enjoy the week.”
Your info lacks some context, me thinks. There’s no way we’ve told our greatest coach, this is it, 12 months out, during the week of a milestone match for one of our greatest players. It’s completely nonsensical, and unprofessional.
Let the Clarkson issue not worry you. Was told Tuesday that his contract will not be extended so expect the indecision to continue.
Hmmm looking for a new coach?! Why would the club go ahead and let Clarko or even Mitchell go if the rebuild started this year? Sorry, but this doesn’t make sense at all. “Looking for a new coach” also means starting the rebuild from scratchNo he was told this week, it’s now over so we are looking for a new coach. Unbelievably it’s over an 18 month period given Clarkos current contract.
