Why wouldn't we take 2 mids? Our young onballer stocks are Phillipou, Windhager and Garcia. Dow and Clark are in their prime but are supporting cast rather than main characters. Then we have Steele, Macrae and Jones all around 30. Ross was axed and Crouch is about to be forced into medical retirement.

I'd say Smilie and Reid would be an ideal outcome with our first two picks.
So, what you are saying is you are a mid-saint-guy?

Chris, some people project Berry as a midfielder and others as a small forward. What's your take?
Strategically I think our core midfielders Young, Serong and Brayshaw can all spend some rotation time forward. Johnson and Erasmus should be part of that, but small forwards bring a different dynamic. Bolton is deadly and will certainly attend CBDs, and if Berry also has that capacity it is a tick.

I thought it was going to be an upset Richmond fan that I didn’t rate the guys they picked highly enough. It’s not my fault they had all those picks and chose the Gold Coast route instead of GWS.

Not many upset Tigers fans today I would think. To paraphrase Kerry Packer; you only get one North Melbourne in your lifetime and they just had theirs.

So did Freo get a steal Chris? How did you rate Reid against Berry and Allan?

7. Murphy Reid
9. Joe Berry
18. Bo Allan

My rankings were a month old, but not a lot would have changed.

I liked Reid, he’s a footballer. I can see him playing games next year across half forward for us, think he plays faster than he tests. Our board just needs to view him as a half forward/mid and not just lump him in automatically as midfield depth. For me he jumps ahead of Simpson for the pure reason that he’s a ball winner wherever he plays.

My rating of Allan is mostly because I’m not sure what he is - a mid or a half back. Could be excellent. Or West Coast could find themselves still with no midfield once Reid leaves.

Maybe once you put up your draft winners and losers, where everyone loses marks because they didn't draft <state league scrubber>

A+ for Fremantle once we get Narkle on board then.

ohh, who was that who went undrafted ?

Poor Jaxon Artemis. I thought he was probably only 50/50 to be picked up but I liked what I saw. There’s still time though.
