depending on which location, you could get 90k straight away with OT. yeah its about 65k working standard hours. double time for any hours over standard fortnightly roster. If you get promotions or go into specialised roles, you can comfortably clear 100k. 5 weeks leave a year.
Thanks for that , do you work in that field?

I was interested as they were recruiting but when I saw the remuneration it was a bit low given I've got a mortgage , kid and in comparison to what I earn now
Would be more then happy doing OT so might reassess

Screws earning more than coppers. Unbelievable the country we live in.

One you need a clean criminal history to even be considered.
The other a criminal history gets you a shoe in the door.

:D You only earn the big 100k, if you can be bothered dealing muppets 24/7. Their irrational whinging about the most unimportant bullshit will have you knock back OT, after a while. however a lot of guys do it. Then again, I have low muppet tolerance levels. 2 extra shifts put you on about 85-88k a year, so working a 100 hour fortnight.
If only you boys could go a little 'old school' on some of them without the scrutiny of cctv and social justice warriors...

Whenever I see the job ads, the positions are casual, do people start out like this then get offered full time down the line?

My dream job is to be a copper but I'm not applying at the moment due to I'm scared I'll get bounced straightaway due to mental health (depression). So once I have had a year without any issues I will chuck in my app and hope for the best.
