One of them has to be Hickey/Allen unfortunately, assuming both McG and Barrass come in. Neither of them deserves it but we're going for a flag and them's the breaks. Tend to think that while we're easing NN in it makes more sense to go with Hickey but longer term I wouldn't mind having Allen sharing the load.

Was Petrucelle in Melbourne today? Thought he didn't travel but he's not in the WAFL team either. Wouldn't mind him coming back in with Hutchings out if available.

Cameron is always a chance to go out too. Was a tough game today obviously but last in first out always seems to apply to the young guys.

Out: Hutchings, Masten, Allen

In: Barrass, McGovern, Petrucelle

Edit: I suppose structurally Schofield's position is in danger too. I would probably hang onto him though for now.

Could be a little too tall with NN, Hickey, Allen, JK, JD, Gov, Barrass, but seems very harsh to drop Allen after that.

Agree with these changes. Apparently Nic Nat had 58% TOG and Hickey 57%. If we are going to continue like this the next few weeks I think allen can stay in the team as a third tall.

Wouldnt be shocked if cameron lost his spot instead of masten, purely because of hutch going down and needing someone to play 6th mid

Petrucelle missed with a hamstring injury so i doubt he will be right for Freo

In - McGovern, Barrass, (Petracelli)
Out - Masten, Hutchings, (Rioli)

Rioli seems quiet recently so should he have a rest in the wafl?

Rioli needs match fitness and to work within the AFL structure. Would be a waste.

The derby will be massive if they lose this and we beat Carlton.

Still game on here though, and the Eagles snatch undeserved wins like this all the time.
Of course. They always win these. When did they last lose a close game?
It goes to show that the better team doesn't always win
What a joke of a side West Coast are. They’d be hovering around 10th if they weren’t paying off the umps for those soft frees in front of goal that gives them a 2-3 goal advantage every single ******* game.
Come on West Coast. Let’s 9-0 this lot.

Obviously Barrass and Mcgovern in.

So probably Schofield and Nelson out?

If Petruccelle is ready to come in then Hutchings goes out.

Probably the only question is Nelson the person going out or could there be another? I won't name the player because some posters might get upset.

Tough week for changes.
Masten had a quiet game but Hutch's injury might give him a reprieve.
Cameron was quiet too and Petch will hopefully be right to play next week.
Barrass and Gov are the obvious ins and Schofield had a rough game for the most part.
Allen was good in defence but I doubt Freo will field enough talls for him to stay down back next week. They love to generate fast breaks from their backline so we may struggle if we go in too tall up forward. In my view, JK, Darling, Allen, Naita and Hickey is too tall and will limit us in what will likely be a high intensity, contested game. Allen's good performance down back shouldn't necessitate his selection as a forward if it throws off our balance.
Matty Allen might be in with a sniff to replace Hutchings as we could use a big bodied contested player in the likely scrap. This would release Redden to play Hutch's role as a tagger/defensive wingman.

OUT: Schofield, Allen (unlucky), Hutch (inj), Masten
IN: Gov, Barrass, Petrucelle, M.Allen

That might be one too many changes and the loss of both Hutchings and Masten is the loss of a lot of running power (relative to M.Allen and Petch). If Petch is still under a cloud, leave Masto in and just take out Hutch for M.Allen.

I got criticised having a go at Masten before the game. I would like to apologies after looking at his output against Hawks: 10 Disposals, 7 Kicks, 2 tackles, free kicks for 2( season high), free kicks against 1 ( season low). He is not going anywhere, safest player on that list. Let's look at other players with poor performances like JD for not kicking straight missing two goals. Masten to go back to 93 Tattoo studios. I rather watch JK running around goalless all day or watch Hutch on bench with Ice pack than seeing Masten ever get near the footy.
