Also, I brought up on the live podcast last week that our record with the Kelly-Shuey-Yeo combination is terrible, especially compared with the record when Kelly is paired with one but not both of Shuey & Yeo.

When all three have played we’re now 5 wins from 11 games, with a percentage below 85. When two play, we’re 6 from 8 (not counting the Bombers game where Kelly was injured before halftime).

Yup this is what has pissed me off the most our top three mids are just average atm

Also where was this we will play Shuey up forward as he regains fitness?? because atm he is poor in the middle.

Why can't Yeo be thrown up forward for a bit ???? just seems no change in mindset form Simpson and co

This is a good point and something I raised before the injured duo returned around the bye. Is it continuity and cohesion holding them back or a touch of GWS syndrome (too much talent, leave it to someone else to do the work)?

Yeo seems the accountable one. I believe he can play with either Shuey or TK. And that's a problem in itself as he is also the most versatile and would be the easiest to move to another position.

I think the best solution is to always have one of TK, Shuey on the bench or in the F50 and Bring in someone like West who is more a Priddis type (in and under and workman like but better). This way It'd be Yeo, TK/Shuey, and West at a CB where we have a pure inside mid, and Yeo then Shuey and TK as the outside polish who can assist inside if needed.

We are very much lacking scrap and fight around the ball. haven't really had it since Priddis hung up the boots.

Wow, was a walking cliche of his usual sayings. When asked if he’d drop senior players he literally said “they’ve got credits in the bank to work through their poor form”.

I take that to mean that Darling, Sheed, McGovern, Cripps and Gaff will all be automatic selections come Thursday night.

2 forwards have to stay in the forward 50 at all times one deep.
Need to move quicker coming out of the back line.
Create space to lead into, if you lead into space and you don’t get the ball clear out so someone else can offer a second lead.
If a team gets a run on start playing man on man instead of zoning.
NO corralling attack the player and put them under pressure.
TIME TO HUNT

Simpson retracted his "no free pass" statement on channel 7 with Barra.
said he didn't mean that but meant they would explore options to change things up whether that meant positional changes or personnel.also said the senior players had enough credits in the bank.

based on these comments I expect the following changes

out: rotham
in: redden.

nothing to see here.

They may have "credits in the bank to work through their poor form", but unfortunately we don't have (premiership) points on the board to spend whilst they work though that form.

While I think our problems are far deeper, an obvious move (given this info, which I honestly hadn't realised) is Yeo to the backline.

I'm not sure what we would really have to lose from throwing the magnets around this week.

What about moving Shuey forward?

Anyone really surprised he is in the unicycle peddling backwards really fast.. Nissy probably had a word in his ear not to upset the big name pea hearts…. It’s certainly not a good look if he backtracks now as how can any player take his messaging seriously if he wont follow through with his threars.

Yeah possibly. I just think lack of any sort of drive or taking the game on out of our back half is our major problem (amongst a whole bunch).

Yeo's excelled in that exact role before

I'd be more than happy for them to try ANYTHING different at this point though

I was thinking about this today and I'm not too fussed about what we do with the ball in the defensive 50. It's that kick from the half back line to the centre line that opponents are stifling. Shannon Hurn is still one of the best kicks in footy but he needs someone to kick it to who isn't a) stationary and b) on the wing. I guess the problem with Hurn is he can't really take advantage of the man on the mark rule. Lewis Jetta would have torn players up in that exact situation two years ago.

The amount we miss prime Jetts kicking cannot be understated. No one else goes for the kicks he did because quite frankly no one else is capable of it. He would've killed with the man on the mark rule.

Yeo back there at least might give us some run and carry and line breaking potential. His kicking accuracy isn't the best but he does have distance and isn't afraid to take the game on. He's done it before somwe know he can be a bit of a weapon back there.

And it just might give the oppo coach something different to think about for once

Or for example, JD is a disaster but there is no other option that would offer his presence and work - while drawing 2-3 defenders.

Only the preschoolers would think the message players get is what is presented to the media. But this is BF

I think there's potentially a role for Brander in there actually. Ball on the half back line with Hurn/Rotham/Nelson, Barrass back for the switch kick, McGovern/Naitanui up the line for the wing kick, Brander could peel off into space, Darling could come into the square from the F50 and depending on where the kick goes, you've potentially got two of Naitanui/Brander/Darling in good position to move forward with or without the ball. Throw Gaff/Sheed in there for link play and it would automatically make us more dangerous.

Ffs...what happened to no free rides speech after the game

Sheppard Barrass Rotham
Hurn HEdwards Foley

Duggan Yeo(c) Kelly

Ryan Allen Achee
Langdon Kennedy Petruccelle

NicNat Shuey Hutchings(Tagger)

Gov West L.Edwards Cole

Ins: Hutchings West H.Edwards L.Edwards Foley

Outs: Gaff Cripps Darling Sheed Nelson

Enoughs enough Simmo **** your credit in the banks bullshit. This season is still salvageable stop been a arrogant prick.
Give Yeo the captaincy. Boots looks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders free him up to dominate once again. I reckon Yeo will go to another level as skipper.

We should all be over opposition teams best midfielders tearing us a new one week in week out. Hutchings in to tag, hell last time this occurred we won a flag. I could only imagine if he played last night and shut down Cunnington. His a better option then Sheed at present who's a defence liability and his stat's in the twos are impressive.

Darling needs a absolute rocket and no bigger one then sitting in the twos til he finds some mental toughness and form. The amount of times he gets muscled under the ball or plays for a free is borderline droppable on its own.

Gaff can also head back there I just can't figure out where he fits into this side I cringe everytime he has it. His a beast runner apart from that his decision making under pressure is shocking, his disposal is poor and the only time he looks any good is when we are 10 goals up.

Cripps and Nelson make way for some youth there okay players but I don't think they offer anything a newbie couldn't. Needs to happen youth rejuvenates list and hopefully we can unearth some gems whilst trying to save our season.

Well your probably correct.. most of the players are offering the same presence as him. …. Completely none… he has barely had a kick for 8 weeks im sure he will come good eventually… whens the last time he actually played a decent full game? The start of 2018?? Since that injury he has been a quarter or half a game player at best …. With brain fades and nothing much else for the rest of the time..

Shuey, yeo on the inside.

Play Ryan ff, play darling up the ground.

Nelson out, I’d like brander to come back in as he is a good disposal user on the wing.

Cole out, foley in.

Petch (most over rated player) out, west in
