No changes for me HOWEVER.... I would certainly not be against a small for a tall by shuffling Simpkin into more mid minutes and dropping one of Stephens or Phillips.

I am really hanging to see Maley in the big leagues, really feel like his contested marking could be a real positive point of difference for us or even as they say just consistently bringing it to ground and letting PC and Konstanty work around the packs, however I am also leaning into the space of bringing in Teakle to chop out in the ruck. Darling has looked okay but I feel like the whole point of having him in the side is so he's able to present and take a man out of the fwd50 which he can't exactly be doing while he's rucking.

Papley out.

Tom Papley
Tom reported heel pain following our training session last weekend. He will be unavailable for this Saturday’s match against North Melbourne and will have imaging to further assess the injury and a return to play timeframe.

good player, and thus a good miss for us

Although he's 'available', won't be shocked to see Logue get brought back via the VFL.

And I love Logue - big wraps on him as a defender.

This game has less to do with the odds and more to do with the gods.

Last years BS call on interchange infringement; the 19th man saga; the deliberate runner interference episode; tackling below the knee rule etc etc

We owe the swans big time and this game is the start of our redemption against them. We need to smash these campaigners!!!!!
You missed the free kick against the doctor who was assessing George (I think it was) for a head injury.

Ok 3 weeks in
Integrating Darling Parker Daniel Konstanty and Hansen has been tried and we have some idea of what’s what

Daniel plays like Mitchell did
But not next to hodge and Burgoyne so that is definitely an experiment
Darling has limitations Clarko has to use him and not expose him
Coaching criticism was fair I thought
Parker we need, our mids lack aggro
Happy to have a look at Urq in that context
Konstanty is ticking boxes
Has time on his side
Now Hansen….
I understand the don’t drop him, affects his confidence
But what if he chokes again

Big picture we are seriously improving
I would give them all another chance

I have two changes:

Hardeman for Philips - our mids are lacking spark so I want to see Colby and Finn going through the centre at times. Philips is last on the depth chart. Hardeman has speed and a raking kick, need to invest time in him. Also, our defensive transition lacks speed, need to address that.

Logue for Pink - Harsh on Pink but can't see us doing much else. Still think we need a contested marking option forward of centre but can live with Charlie back in the short term.

Oh no.

Someone mentioned no one asking for Lmac to be dropped so in true bigfooty-shit-posting fashion, I obliged.

(FYI, I thought he was great!)
I was a little perplexed that no one had asked for him to be dropped
We are living in strange days
( I also think he has been very good in the last two games ) great is a little strong it may jinx him.

Feels like a lifetime ago with that 22 lol.

Have we beaten the Swans at Marvel since 2007 - when Blake Grima was around? Please tell me that we have. I can’t remember it…
We have not.

Can set your clock to Kingy putting Clarkson “in the gun” on Friday morning…

“Don’t lose to what you know”. If he allows Warner & Heeney to do what they please without a plan in place, that’s the game. A repeat of Rankine will be absolutely inexcusable.

We should win this game.

Kingy should turn his hand to coaching.

I’ve got a girls’ lunch on Saturday, which—if history is anything to go by, will seamlessly transition into a girls’ dinner and after-party. BUT this time, I’m planning to leave ‘early’, to put my team before the girls and get to the footy!

I’m going to be absolutely devo (and probably question all my life choices) if we don’t get the 4 points! I’m already feeling nervous about this game!!

Don’t let me down North!! Don’t even think about it!

It's been 18 years since we last won at Docklands against Sydney. Our record since then has been 3 wins, 1 draw and 19 losses, including losing our last eight, anywhere, against them.

Eleven of those losses have been by under 3 goals, and five of them by under a goal (all of those at home), and there was a draw. At home. Of course.

Our ex premiership legend and Coleman medal winner John Longmire was Sydney's coach for 14 of those 18 years and was an assistant prior to that when Paul Roos was coach.

Ex dual Premiership player John Blakey was also on Sydney's assistant coach list as well as being football director between 2007 and 2020.

Surely none of this was beneficial to us. There are no more ex NMFC players on Sydney's coaching panel.

For our last win against Sydney at Docklands (when it was called the Telstra Dome) in 2007:
  • Josh Gibson, Leigh Adams, Leigh Brown and Adam Simpson were playing for us.
  • Shannon Grant kicked four goals, and Corey Jones three.
  • John Howard was Prime Minister.
  • George W. Bush was the US President.
  • The first iPhone had not yet been sold.
  • Madeleine McCann disappeared two days before this game.
  • Finn O'Sullivan was not yet one year old.
We have to win this Saturday. Please for the love of God can we end this misery?
