We need some marking power forward. Sellers for sure, even look at Maley. One of Ford, Duursma or Zurhaar out.

Stephenson does little, I want to see some pace, let's see Hansen Jr.

Stephens was poor, as is Tucker. Bring one out, move Scott onto a wing and Archer back?

Shiels is not it, bring in Philips and give him a run or Drury if we play Zurhaar further up the ground.

That's my quick thoughts.

Archer in and send Sheezel to midfield/ centre bounce. Sellers in. And Brayden George back to playing forward. Not sold on Zurhaar & Stephenson anymore. Thought Ford is starting to do more.

OUT: Everyone who said Parma & Parmi
IN: Everyone that say Parmo & Parmy

F*** it

OUT: Stephens Tucker Stephenson Corr McDonald
IN: Archer Sellers Lazzaro Phillips Biggy

B: Archer Dawson Biggy
HB: Sheezel Comben Fisher
C: Scott LDU McKercher
HF: Ford Sellers Duursma
F: Curtis Larkey Zurhaar
R: Xerri Wardlaw Powell
I: Greenwood Shiels Lazzaro Phillips
S: Simpkin

B: Archer Comben Corr
HB: McDonald Dawson Fisher
C: Scott, Phillips, McKercher
HF: Sheezel, Larkey, Ford
F: Simpkin, Maley, Curtis
R: Xerri, LDU, Wardlaw

Int: Powell, Tucker, Greenwood, Zurhaar

Sub: Shiels

In: Archer, Maley, Phillips,
Out: Stephens Stephenson, Duursma (rested),

Ins:
Archer (and Comben) makes defence look more structurally conventional and also sharper edged. Frees Sheezel to play forward and help address our renewed scoring problem.
Maley - maybe raw but the 10 coaches votes were no accident and he’s more likely to test Geelong with those aerial skills than Sellers. Can also relieve Xerri instead of Larkey
Phillips - we just looked totally weak around the contest. Get him in rotation to help address the structural issue notwithstanding his form.

Outs: Neither Stephens or Stephenson likely to get more than 10 possessions at Geelong
Duursma - rest or play reserves for an easier weekend.

Honestly can't see how we get anywhere near them. They are slick, clean and contested crazy even in the wet.

On dry turf at their home ground? We are absolutely done for.

We would struggle to beat the Eagles the way we are playing.

Geelong could cruise in first gear and still have a comfortable win.

Just wait for one of Geelong’s fringe players to have a breakout game.

We are the are easiest side in the AFL to play against.

We have been for pretty much the last 15 years to be brutally honest.

It's just that we suck more than ever nowadays.

Even when we were shit under Laidley the players gave effort.

This current group is as mentally soft as it gets. They complain about losing, but don’t want to do anything about it.

Joint needs another massive clean out and to get ruthless on players that are just happy to cruise along knowing they are on an AFL list.

Remember when we'd do the miraculous comebacks during the Laidley years and somehow demolition top 4 teams in our mid-table finishes under Scott?

That feels like ages ago. We didn't know.

That was because even though we may have not had the talent, we had strong leaders who demanded effort commitment.

This club needs to find leaders like Spud Firrito, Glenn Archer, Boomer Harvey etc. Leaders who demanded those around them to be better and led by example.

Instead we have jokers like McDonald and Simpkin. Simpkin looks to have cracked the shits that he’s been punted out of the midfield. I actually would be saying to him, your back in the midfield and you need to lead by example.

I think Tarrant was a crucial cog at one point too. He commanded his back 6.

Haven't had anyone with presence back there since... well Comben tonight?

This playing group are pretty much beaten before the first bounce.

Clubs know we are a soft kill and won’t respond to any kind of heat or pressure.

Richmond last week showed what can happen when there is effort, but it’s too hard for these blokes.

It’s the same week in week out, rock up, crumble and give up when it gets a bit hard and then sook it up because you are getting beaten.

There is nothing close to a hard edge to this group, which is surprising given the bloke who is in charge.

FFS I woukd love him to bring back unsociable footy if it gave us some kind of response.
