Sure, which nine players out of the 22 playing today are you dropping to fit these nine guaranteed starters in?
Voss, Dudley, Worner, Banfield. Possibly Erasmus. Five at absolute most
It's an exaggeration, we don't have nine of our best 22 out.
Fyfe and Walters absolutely would've been in if fit.

I'm guessing Sturt makes it 9? But I don't think he's b22.

Again which 9 are you dropping? It's nonsense, we don't have a guaranteed best 22 with 9 missing. If we did we could easily name 9 guys we want out of the side to be replaced by the likes of Switta and Sturt

Love how having nine of your best 22 out is apparently "not an excuse". Would be a reasonable excuse for every other club in the comp but not us apparently
A few problems:
  1. It's West Coast. Should be beating them regardless, and I'd hold any team with finals aspirations to that standard. Carlton did them last year with like 28 players fit.
  2. You put yourself in a position where certain games are must-win by losing. If we beat Sydney, I could see half a case where losing to West Coast isn't quite panic stations.
  3. Freo have been waxing lyrical about this tremendous depth we have. And have a Peel premiership to back that up to an extent. Time to back up the talk.

Beating both Geelong and Sydney but losing to West Coast would still cause the panic.

WC are supposed to be rubbish, the expectation is that they are a soft kill.

As if there are easy wins in AFL.

All of Fyfe, Walters and O'Meara (barring the last 2 games as an inside mid) realistically haven't shown enough to be considered best 22 on form.

The lack of experience and the leadership lost in the replacements is the bigger issue.

Our most experienced player today is Aish and he's the sub. Next best is Ryan on 157.
