Callum Brown deserves another week, if he slots 1 or 2 of the goals he missed we'd be all praising him that it was his breakout game, did some nice things.

But he didn't - 'ifs' don't cut it.

I'm intrigued as to how he goes. If Cox isn't right for a few weeks, Ben is going to become incredibly important. He needs to stand-up and take this opportunity.

Cox is a huge blow, not only because of his forward presence, but also it is the worst game for him to be missing, considering Port have Ryder and Lycett. Surely we wont have Grundy rucking solo?
Reid is a up in the air selection, will he play forward or back? Considering Ports ruck combo, maybe Reid plays down back, release Moore to the forward line to replace Cox, and also give Grundy a chop out in the ruck.

I’m completely torn. His body of work at VFL level this season is top drawer given how rubbish we are as a collective. I also stand by my pre-season assessment that as a fwd he offers more than Cox. His body though is held together by scar tissue.

It’s his final season so he just needs to get through 5 more months. I don’t think he will, but the alternative is Lynch who I’m not convinced is ready. It’s the best we can do really.

I am actually quite excited to see how this will look.

If Reid impacts more than Cox does it will be an interesting problem to have.

A long time to run, but if he stays fit and goes ok when he plays seniors. I'd be offering him another one year extension. Great depth to have up our sleeves.

They aren't going to mess with the team structure. Reid to provide ruck relief, and if anything a bit more falls on Brodie to ruck for longer on Friday than what he doeswith Cox in the side

Reid's form up forward in the VFL appears very solid and that's in a side that's struggling.

I have faith he can be just as effective as Cox up forward he'll just get it done it in a different manner.

The trouble I can see arising will be if he's assigned the relief ruck duties against what is arguably the best ruck combination in the competition.

Cal Brown is also vulnerable, but he's showing good signs so might keep his spot.

I like Varcoe, but he doesn't seem to be creating space or closing it down as effectively as he has in the past. He was fumbly whenever he got near it as well, so I agree he might be the unlucky one.

He'll get to dangerous spots and provide a contest. He's too clever for them to completely sag off him, so he'll at the least occupy a defender. Fantastic depth to have up our sleeves. I don't think that any team is going to be able to bring in a better option from their reserves to replace their number one tall forward.
