Star Wars Cassian Andor Live Action Tv Series

This truly is peak TV.

Another outstanding three episode arc. I like how it wasn't afraid to kill off the good guys (which many other Star Wars properties suffered from) and portrayed the complexities of the system, the rebellion and duty. So many people torn between what they should do and what they ought to do.

It also reinforced how truly powerful the empire is and the cumulative oppression that inspires a rebellion.

Love this series to bits.

Similar to Season 1, some slow bits, some bits that maybe seemed a bit out of place. Rock, paper, scissors for leadership was a little odd.

Coldest line Luthen to Mon after he 'intimates' taking out Tay is it, and she says I dont know what you mean and he goes, that must be nice.

One thing I hadn't mentioned, the tracking shot on Chandrilla to make it feel like a real, lived in location as Mon walks down the stairs and around the corner, it makes it feel massive. Such good cinematography.

Yes, this too. Never feels cheap or inauthentic whether it's the jungle planet, farming planet, Coruscant or Chandrila.

Why can't we have this kind of Star Wars all the time?

Thought it highlighted how fractured and immature the rebellion is at this point in time, only four years before they blew up the first Death Star.

The wedding stuff went on a bit longer than it should have, but other than that, was really good.

The stuff on Mina-Rau was the highlight for me. An on the ground representation of how scummy and evil the empire is.

I enjoyed the Syril/his mum/Dedra bit on Coruscant, but I hope that we eventually see one of them flipping to the Rebels. Otherwise feels like a it's a waste to do it for the sake of tonal shift.

Imagine the remaining episodes are getting pretty full on and less humourous from here. Cant wait.

Maybe it was the jungle, maybe the lighting, but on first viewing it was difficult to figure out what they were arguing about

Id say Dedra will be the one too, she didn't seem too keen on the Gorman situation.

Also had a LOL at Mon Mothma looking like she popped a few E's and having the time of her life on the D floor.

Leader that brought them together died, two were arguing about who is now in charge.

Cliched storyline but there's a reason it keeps getting reused.

Money's on Dedra, having been put in charge of a planetary genocide which even managed to irk an actual Nazi. She believes in dictatorial authority to put down those who want to tear the system down, but she doesn't believe in Krennic's ambition.

Looking forward to the Ghorman plot as Star Wars fans have pointed out it is a catalyst for a surge in the rebellion.

Mon letting her hair down on the d floor so to speak was so random and unexpected. She’s got some moves too.

The Krole character was grimey from the moment he appeared. When he said the line “I’ll be back in an hour”, holy shit I had a feeling it meant what it ended up meaning. Never thought I’d see that type of sequence in Star Wars, brutal. The casual nature of the pilot having a little nap in the transport too suggests this shit happens all the time too, the way they’ve been able to make the Empire even more hatable in this series is next level.

Yavin 4 a nice touch. The Tie Interceptor wrecking shit up in the final few minutes was fantastic.

I’m most keen to see Dedra’s arc from here. Going toe to toe with Syril’s mum was funny, what she does on Ghorman is going to be fascinating to see unfold.

I ended up spoilering myself a little, Tony Gilroy had a tweet earlier where he said the 'Ghorman massacre' would be conveyed in S2. You can probably figure it out from there even if you have no idea about the EU, sure it might be predictable having a war crime happen right in front of you causing a full 180, but that kind of thing driving Dedra to the rebellion should still be compelling viewing hopefully. Or maybe it reinforces her and Syril's belief in the empire even more. Or a mix of both.

Either way, very much looking forward to it.

If you look at this and R1 and were then to watch ANH for the first time there would likely be more gravity to the fear of the Empire as opposed to me as 10 year old being awed by Darth Vaders terrifying appearance and behaviour

I wonder if any of those Di$ney executives have floated a remake of ANH? It’s coming up 50 years in 1977.

The harder the Disney content fails the closer we are to a remake of the original trilogy.

So much this!!

The 'rebellion' at the moment is horribly immature with splinter groups everywhere. For every Luthen there are others so utterly amateur that they settle disputes with a kids game.

Cutting that scene with Empire planning was a display of just how far below the line they currently are.

Mon dancing at the wedding was an incredible scene. like, she knows her childhood friend is going to be dead soon, her daughter just married off in the name of the rebellion. She put everything into that dance, the anger, the frustration - the artifice of the dance versus the reality in which she's living. Amaizing.

Also, notice how its filmed. Everyone going one way while Mon is going against the tide.

Even her usually head in the sand husband knows somethings not right with her.

The return of the fabulous Naimos with a new mix at the wedding. Disco robot mirror ball for the win!

“My parents were arrested when I was 3 and I was raised in a kinderblock”.

****ing hell. Ice cold delivery too.

That’s an excellent pick up, that makes a lot of sense now upon rewatch. Teema to you.

Knowing Dedra she probably turned them over to the empire herself. Only slightly joking.

She's a well constructed character and the actress is excellent.

Explain Naimos? Was that the music? I hope that your saying it’s a real act because that was awesome

I did indeed think that

In S1 Nicholas Brittell scored a piece of music he called Naimos- it appears in different parts of S1 but is mixed differently each time. Its very cleverly done. The entire S1 soundtrack is a masterpiece and I'm bitterly disappointed he didn't get to score S2 as well.

This one below is called the Galaxy Mix. The new one I posted above will probs be called the Wedding Mix.

I Rogue One Cassian said ' I've lost everything." He hasn't lost them all yet, but he will. I can imagine each Arc we see him lose someone else - a body countdown to Rogue One.
