Burgoyne is contracted to the end of the year, I want him doing his best to help the team win in every single game.

There is the hesitation to just leave him out and play a kid instead but I want that kid to earn his games and play in a side doing everything possible to win in every game.

Melbourne and Carlton stuffed their sides by giving games to undeserving players and accepting losses.

Also if you don't look at birthdays you'd be saying that Sheils, Stratton, Scully, McEvoy, O'Meara, Mitchell should retire. We have players in their prime or twilight that are not earning a spot that can make way for a young player that has earn't a game. I'd rather Jones get a game because Sheils isn't playing well and Jones knowing he is the better option for that game than getting picked just to get his game numbers up at the expense of Burgoyne not playing just cause he's old and not due to form.

If Covid-19 affects next season like it has this one, a few of those senior boys might call time. Especially, if they have life after footy sorted.
