Bulls and Dwight

I think the Bulls need to make a move to get over the top like the 2010 Cavs did. Is there an Antawn Jamison-like player they could trade for? Or Antawn Jamison himself?

Not sure if you've heard but that didn't exactly work out for the Cavs.

No way do we trade for Howard
You would have to tear apart the team and we are already a massive shot to win the championship. Noah had a triple double the other day and is a huge asset.....and no way would I be letting deng go

I say no trade

To become champions you first need to get past the Cryami Teats and with this current bulls line up which relies so heavily on Rose to score it just ain't gonna happen I'm afraid. Deng's over all improvement is simply no way near enough to cover that lack of scoring power. I would not be surprised if the bulls get swept by the teats in the Eastern Conf Finals to be honest.

As far as I'm concerned the teats have one foot firmly placed in the NBA Finals it's just a matter of finding out which Western Conference team they'll meet there.

Deng does offer us something in clutch situations though which we wouldn't get through Dwight, and gutting the team to get one player would do us more harm than good. I just hope Rip is ready to go at the end of the season because we gain another scoring option there.

The Heat are looking very good, but there is still a long way to go randy. I just hope the teats have peaked.. even though in the Playoffs with rest days and the like they will be a tough beast to stop.

We kept winning with rose, deng and Hamilton out for extended periods
When we have our starting 5 of deng, rose, Hamilton, boozer and Noah all playing for a few games in a row we will beat miami

We are winning with a weakened team but that is mainly against poor teams, we have struggled to beat the better sides.

For your sake I hope you're right about that.

The bulls are an amazing defensive unit but I reckon the teats can match that defensive intensity with the speed and agility of the lebron/wade combo. Rose can cut apart just about every team in the East with ease but needs help to counter the attention of those 2 guys in particular. Lewade know that if they stop Rose from scoring they're half-way to beating the bulls.

I hate both the bulls and the lewade homo lovers but the bulls are definitely the lessser of the 2 evils.

And the bulls also have not assembled their team with 2 limp dicked superstars trying to take a shortcut to win a championship so they're more legitimate in my eyes. :thumbsu:

Would love to get rid of Boozer even without getting Dwight so that wouldn't be a problem.

I don't understand this, maybe his contract isn't the best, but Booze is playing quite well and him and Noah are finally working well together

I also don't agree that the Bulls can't get past Miami. Miami are favourites right now, but the Bulls are playing well and still haven't got Hamilton up and running.

Agree 100% with all of this
Very well said

I think Miami showed last year they had Chicago covered when it came down to the crunch and LeBron crushed D-Rose when it mattered.

One year on and essentially coming in with the only change being an aging Rip Hamilton, I can't see them beating Miami in 7 again when Miami have become a refined, smarter unit.

Not that I believe that Rip Hamilton means instant championship, you're underestimating just how fluent the Bulls offense was with Rip inserted.

Add to Boozer and Noah actually getting to play together (and playing well) more than last season, that's a huge boost to the Bulls chances.

The improvement in Lieutenant Deng is also something that needs to be recognised, especially when it comes to dealing with LeBron James.

Also the Turkish Hammer eats anything that enters the paint, really hurt when he went down last year.

Make no mistake, the Bulls can beat Miami in a 7 game series.

Are you going by stats or do you watch the games? Boozer is getting his stats against terrible teams and completely disappearing against the good ones. Teams like Miami and Indiana are too tall and athletic for him and constantly block his shot, and then he loses confidence in his jumper. To make things worse he allows layups on D. You've probably never seen a worse team defender.. maybe ever.

He has picked it up a bit lately but the true test will be when we start playing the best teams in the league again.

You have really taken the glass half full with all of the above but as a fan you have to be optimistic:

  1. The sample size is far too small to be making any conclusions of what Hamilton brings to the offense, but I acknowledge the upgrade from Bogans.
  2. Noah had a very average start to the season, Booz has been Booz. What is the big advantage? Miami still know who they are and how to get into them, physically with Booz, and mentally with Joakim.
  3. Luol Deng has been no better overall than last year or the year before imho but still a key ingredient to the Bulls. He has also missed games this year. Is he over those injuries?
  4. Will give you Asik. Key to the second unit's stingy D.
  5. Can't wait to find out. Would be huge.

1. I don't believe it is, you don't need to take into account what Rip can do scoring wise. He gives Wade somebody to chase for the game rather than a stationary Bogans on the perimeter, just Rip running around the court does wonders more than Bogans did last year.

2. Noah started off poorly, but has been beasting these last few weeks. The Bulls beginning to use his passing skills (as well as Boozer's) in their offense when teams were trapping Rose is huge. The games Rose missed Deng played a bit of a point forward role setting his career high in assists with 11 and then beating that again the next night with 12.

3. Actually he is, maybe not from a stats point of view but Lu has been far more aggressive this year than ever before. He no longer drives to the hoop with his head down only thinking about the shot, he's started to kick out to the perimeter for the 3 after the defense collapses.

4. If Asik could catch, he would be an absolute monster. :(

Also CJ Watson looks a lot more comfortable this season in this system and has been pretty good backing up Rose and Brewer has almost developed a consistent (albeit broken) jumpshot.

Cancel the season and play the ECF now, we know who's getting there.

The difference between Deng now and 12 months ago is like night and day. He's improved his handle, is becoming a playmaker, he's shooting the three better than ever and no longer disappears in the fourth quarter. Whether that's enough to beat the Heat well we'll have to wait and see, though I have my doubts. Keep Miami in the halfcourt though and they're beatable.

As for Hamilton again the difference on offense with him is like night and day, simply because his replacement in the starting lineup is Brewer and you never know what type of shooting night he's going to have, and either way teams play off him and make things hard for Rose. Rip was becoming our second option out there so the sooner he gets back the better.
