I know we all can be super harsh on players, especially after a horrific loss but I'm definitely in the camp that rates him and can't understand a lot of people burying him.

We play a horrible defensive structure, we get killed on the press and our mids have zero defensive accountability. Add that to a 19 year old second year player and you're going to make a few mistakes. The way we set up certainly doesn't help our defenders.

has real mongrel and aggression which very few of our blokes do.

Overdoes the attack on the ball and man from time to time and gives away some silly frees, but I'm confident he will be a gun with more experience.

His kicking is pretty good, just overcooks it sometimes, but that will improve with experience as well.

This is a joke right?, the guy has the worst vision of a player that I've seen. Consistently makes poor choices when kicking, can't even count the amount of times his kicked it directly to the opposition player.

Is this a joke? First in line to go for a spell in the reserves

That turnover near goal was careless, lazy, dumb and unforgivable...

Not going back in with the flight and sticking out one arm shows a lack of care for the club.

Acting tough around Hogan, meh I honestly don't care, back it up with your playing ability.

His disposal is pathetic and he is as slow as an elephant in quicksand. Other than that he is good.

yeh if you overlook a long list of problems with his game, he's not that bad. I have to say that at least he has a tiny weeny bit of mongrel in him. There are so few players with mongrel on the list that i'm willing to tolerate him for another 10 weeks.

Has anyone ever seen a bull in a china shop? I certainly haven't.
Yeah saw this once back in the 80's in a China shop in Clunes. It was a big bull but friendly and probably just wanted a Charles and Di coffee mug or something. Anyway, nothing much happened and I think the stories are exaggerated. Probably depends on the bull though. This was pretty chillaxed for a bull.

The maynatour does something many of his experienced and overpaid teammates haven't been doing. He has a crack each and every time. He stuffs up a lot, so do our highly priced and experienced players

At least this kid has excuses for most of his stuff ups - 19 years old and very inexperienced. When the chips are down the guys with the big contracts and years of experience should be leading the way. It shouldn't be up to 19 year old kids, still finding their way in the game, left to do the tackling, chasing, harrassing and general grunt work.

If many of our older, highly paid and experienced brigade showed his endeavor - and he does all this with shocking tank - we wouldn't all be sitting contemplating how we've managed to kick less than 30 goals in 3 weeks and have been pumped by 2 teams outside the 8.

Yeah, we can all focus on Maynard and his short comings. The real issue for me is that a 19 year old is the only player in our backbone leaving it all on the park. And yes, maybe he needs more time in the 2s to develop - but honestly, who replaces him?

Right now our season is dead. We have nothing left to do except blood youngsters and get as much game time into them as possible before the next pre season.

This season is an absolute joke.

Too many simple errors, gives away too many free kicks, and doesn't read the ball well enough. I'm sorry to be the dissenting voice here but I think he needs more development time in the VFL.

The Whole Backline should go back to Develop in the VFL as well then

And he doesn't bother running back to cover his man. Yeah, great player who runs one way at this stage.
Some of that comes down to our "system" imo. I've watched him pretty closely and the amount of running required is insane. Poor kid is ratshit by 1/4 time. I think he'll improve as he gets more run in his legs.

As others have said. Hes 19 for god sakes, he has years of opportunity to develop and grow. Half of you have blinkers on with no idea as if errors are inexcusable. Reality check guys we all make mistakes, not even the best of us are exempt so how about you grown men look at yourself for criticising a 19 year old kid peasants

Still 19. Yes, he makes some bad choices and errors, but i will take the aggression he has coz that is good. With greater experience and more pre-seasons he will be stronger and hopefully smarter with the ball.
Those errors can happen to anybody. I mean Ben Reid, (Master of the flat bullet like pass on his good days), kicked the ball 10m to Chris Dawes who was standing on the mark today. As you say, hopefully he irons out those errors as he gets more experience.

I like Ramsey more, but im willing to be patient for him. He frustrates me on game day but hes worth persisting with.
