Besides, the ideal mid for us from the Dees is Brayshaw.
I watch the Dees a bit, I don't see how Oliver improves our team

The Murphy bashing around here is getting old, making snide references to him doesn't help make any point youre trying to make. He's been a bloody good player for our club for a long time. Give it a rest.
Hi mate, while I also find sniping at Murph tiresome - that poster was effectively saying that a solid footballer in Phillips is a poor man's Murph.

On the Higgins rumour, his addition seems like sound and logical list management that is affordable and high impact.

It gives us 3 quality recruits across each line, Saad in defence, Williams in the midfield and Higgins in the forward half. All 3 have pace and skill. It won’t break the bank, both in terms of salary cap and trade currency. Importantly, it will drastically improve the team (hopefully) on the paradigm of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

100% onboard with this.

Higgins and pace don't go hand in hand. More smarts and positioning I'd suggest.

Playing along with the hypothetical that we’ll have a quality midfielder under contract nominate us, I really see the Blues struggling to come up with the currency to make it happen WITHOUT trading out a quality player.

Recent trades (Shiel, Treloar, Neale, et al.) show that they’re (proven quality midfielders) basically worth two top 10 picks.

We have next years first and 7 (which will potentially be split for two latter picks).

Austin potentially has his work cut out for him.
These all had a second round pick coming back in.

Neale was 6+19+55 with 30 coming back.

The second top 10 pick for Pies and * was because they underperformed the year after the trade (although there’s an argument that * we’re just naive in that regard).

Two later firsts without anything coming back might be enough, depending on what the club you’re trading with intends to use them for.

Talking to one of my * mates just now, he is adamant Saad is worth pick 7 and one of Walsh/Curnow/McKay/TDK
Or at the very least pick 7

They're in for a bit of a shock...
My mate sent me this....

"I'd happily take De Koning and a second round pick"

I can't post my response... TDK = untouchable as far as I'm concerned

I appreciate what you're saying Blue and if it wasn't for past posting history maybe it'd be possible but here's the contribution of this poster to the Key to Success, hard edge thread and tell me again that I'm mistaken.

Lucky we've kept Marc with a C on the list.

He's sniping in every thread he can whether the discussion relates to Murphy or not.

You think calling Phillips a K-mart version of Murph is having a dig at Murph? Think you'll find it's the opposite...

I refer you to my post #2643 . Do you see a pattern? Explain that one away to me. I was going by a history of posting.

Fair enough mate, I've honestly tried to ignore it.
The reality is Murph has done infinitely more for our footy club than any cheeto-fingered dill on this forum.
