Wines or Viney just make us more one-paced which hurts when the ball goes the other way. Might make Crippa a little less sore come seasons end, but won't help in winning games.

I'd take Gaff a long way before the others ... but one thing that Wines or Viney would do is release Cripps forward for longer stints.

Been tracking this trade for about a decade now myblueroan but it seems we are now just about there.

We are close to agreeing to terms with Mick Martyn's older brother. He is nowhere near as skillful as Mick but can bench at least 550 pounds.

Am I right Antonio BlueVein

Cripps is most dangerous drifting forward as a mid as he creates a mismatch. Agree about Gaff being the best fit, I really don't think an average paced bull helps much though.

I reckon Viney would be ace for the snarl, leadership and protection he’ll give to our slighter younger players. Ed’s disposal is probably bottom 5 of our best 22 but what he provides to the team is invaluable.

Not sure if Jack Viney provides any kind of positive on-field leadership tbh.

Any chance we can have a 'Guess the player' thread seperate to this one? :)

Different posters are likely to have names as being the party the CFC are interested in.
I have a name too and he doesn't wear the number 7.

All we have to know is that next years first will be on offer for the right player. Lots can happen from tomorrow until end of the trade period.
I'd still side on that last piece not to fall, but it may.
Will pick 18 really get us much?

The reason why clubs complain is there’s no transparency with the compensation process, the so called formula is ‘makey uppey’
I reckon there is a formula as such, but there might be some qualitative factor in its machinery that enables AFL desired outcomes; a vibe factor maybe?

Broke Mclean mkII??
brock was the slowest footballer to ever play the game - and don't try and throw that diesel shit my way - viney has more tricks than brock although the old plodder did get the best out of himself............ "he can't kick the journey" be ****ed........

Dont think he has been mentioned yet but could the mystery mid be Shuey? Will be 30 next year and west coast might need to offload his contract to get Kelly in. Also wears 13 which is synonymous with bad luck...

Would have thought a bit too old but who knows
Maybe for a future first downgrade again which will help stay within the rules for using future picks. Surely they need the cap space more than shuey particularly bringing in Kelly to cover.

That goal....

I reckon it’s Viney. We don’t have the picks/player to get either Oliver or Fyfe over the line (and Oliver is a flog and a selfish player IMO). Viney is a quick and tough inside mid - exactly what we need.

WCE want Kelly.

Gaff followed Melbourne as a kid.

Melbourne need runners and have a surplus of grunt mids.

Geelong want picks.

So a 4 way trade:

Gaff to Melbourne

?? Melbourne grunt mid to Carlton/*/XX??

Picks from XX club to Geelong

Kelly to WCE
