I reckon we might see Rachele, just a hunch.

I'm all for a smaller leadership group though, 4 is enough.
Reckon they’ll wait a year after last years finish with Rachele

No, that misses the mark. The thing with the last 7 games is Thilthorpe was dangerous everywhere, which is why he was pulling a CD rating close to what Jeremy Cameron pulled.

After all, look to Geelong, Dogs and Sydney. It's not only multiple goals, but also 9-10 score involvements, 1+ GA and score launches. Effectively, wherever Thilthorpe is, good things happen for Adelaide. The game moving forward is to effectively let Riley be our Wayne Carey/Nick Riedwoldt/Jeremy Cameron or whatever other key forward who an entire system is built around.

That question has already been answered, it's Riley Thilthorpe.

If Curtin ends up a KPF with our list build, he's never going to live up to the hype because there is no room for him to live up to his billing.

Curtin could be very effective splitting his as a half forward/ wingman or even in the Tom Lynch role.

Part of it is to give ownership and trust to the players which Burgess thinks they’ve earnt through habits and training standards outside of the club

So knowing that they’re doing their own training just gives them their chance to put their own stamp on their pre season

I’ve also heard him say the Adelaide players get themselves fit on off season which allows full footy sessions from the get go when they get back

Let’s hope it coverts to a good start to season this time ( unlike last year )

Burgess has been in the game for years and years and the only golf group he was involved with was the Melbourne covid year 2 group. It’s time that everyone realised that he’s a good operator, but he does not provide any form of competitive advantage for us. There’s 2 dozen no worse than him.

Does Rankine want to be a club leader?

It's not just a ranking of the most talented players. It should be about those who give the most to the development of others.
He screams leader to me

The one who looks to impose himself on games at times of need, who gets injected into the middle when we need a spark etc

There’s got to be a bit of both, you need to have players who excite the team and put them on their back when the going gets tough.
You can’t have good blokes and good track trainers but provide absolutely nothing in terms of on field on game day such as Murphy and ROB imo.

Pretty sure he’s said he wants to be a leader at this preseason

He’s probably one of our more competent footy staff but agree other clubs have good guys too

Reckon ANB will be in there for sure, 4 or 5 no real difference
As long as we are not putting in fringe players who then only get played because they are in the leadership team.

From within the group and club, I've never heard anything other than glowing praise and outstanding mentorship about ROB.

I want another ruck but as a leader of men, I can only trust the evidence from the group.

Although I haven't thought it through, but how often is the best captain not the best player? Leadership includes digging in and setting examples etc, but this doesn't always need to be on game day.

You also need to be a player that isn’t in danger of getting dropped.
This should rule him out.

ROB is probably the safest in our team this year.

Our plan "b" ruck option is too far back to get a run. Without injury, ROB is guaranteed all year.
We really don't have a Plan B ruck, that was made crystal clear last year when they gave Strachan a shot, surely even Strachan biggest fans can see that now. I'm sure Toby Murray will get a run if ROB gets an injury but I think at best he's only a chop out option, hopefully Thilly won't even be considered, much too vauable to be hacking around in ruck.
