Food, Drink & Dining Out Best Burger Places

Alright am I the only one that has never had a burger from a fish and chip shop?
I never do because when I walk into one Im craving fish and chips and my logic is that as they specialise in fish and chips Im always imagining they would use frozen meat patties for their burgers and produce subpar burgers. If I wanted a burger Id find a burger joint that specialise in making them to ensure I get a fresh, decent meat patty/other burger trimmings.

You can argue some local fish shops use frozen fish anyway so my point is moot but I dont go to any small local fish and chip shops and only go to ones where I know they use fresh fish.

Please open my eyes to this mysterious world of the "local fish and chip shop burger" and recommend one in Perth?? Cheers

In Ballarat there's a Fish and Chip shop near the Arch of Victory. Magnificent burgers.

Also, Steve's Fish and Chips in the main street (Sturt St) of Ballarat had THE BEST burgers, but recently changed hands. Steve had been there for 30ish years. Haven't been there since, so can't comment, but the new owners are too young and not Greek enough.

We used to have a great Fish'n Chip shop with a Greek family around the corner from us when I was a kid back in the 80s, had the standard Chiko Roll sign but no one ever bought one. The Dad old Gus was like a Greek Fonzie with the slicked back 50s hairdo and was always out in the shop waiting area charming the mums and kids, great bloke we all loved him, meanwhile poor old Mum and the kids were back there doing the donkey work over the frying vats.

Us kids would always get a free Chuppa Chup from Gus when we got our Fish'n Chips too, sly devil knew where his bread was buttered, win over the kids and they'll pester their parents to keep coming back. You don't get those sorts of places anymore though.

The Groper & His Wife in City Beach do awesome Fish and Chips for anyone in Perf.

http://www.groperandhiswife.com.au/

A little bit pricier than your average Fish and Chips joint but it's worth every penny.

Burger Republic is the best I've had in Adelaide, awesome chips too and a huge range of chilli sauces to douse them in. Bit on the pricey side.

Burgers? There's four places. There's the Burger Hut, that's on third, there's Burgers-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Burger-There, that's on third. Swing Low, Sweet Burger... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the burger complex on third.

Why those two locations in particular? What's wrong with the others?

I have only been to these two

When i first went they only had 2 stores now i think they have become a franchise

Yeah, pretty massive on the west coast.

There's some rule that In n Out burger can only be situated within a certain distance of LA. That's why you won't see any on the East Coast.

Amazing how packed the places get

Great burgers terrible hips

They are in Arizona, Utah and Texas as well.

A few of the US guys have come up here lately. Carl's Jnr, Five Guys etc. Yet to try them.
Carls JR is the best for generic fast food burgers over in the US i found

Getting five or six $1 crispy chicken burgers from Jack in the Box when drunk/hungover, dry as ****, but :thumbsu:

Only had Five Guys once but thought it was great. In 'N' Out in some scummy southern suburb of San Diego was absolutely packed. Never seen such a small menu, but a good burger nonetheless.

Yeah, speak to the locals about the menu. Plenty of things you can order that isn't on the menu.

In & out burger is pretty damn good. However you can't go past shake shack for the best burgers anywhere.

Dude Food man in Essendon and the food van around Brunswick & Yarraville goes alright too
