Has to be one of the worst "lists" I've seen in some time.

Matt Rowell is nowhere near Will Ashcroft. Not even in the same galaxy.

And why do they always put Anderson and Rowell together?.. they aren't linked as some double DNA blob.
Its an odd list. Hard to tell whether they are going potential or production. It seems they've gone a bit of both.

I dont disagree with Rowell over Ashcroft. Whilst the norm smith is a big achievement, individually Rowell has alot more runs on the board with his career to date.

Hard to know exactly where to put those guys who have shown alot but, not played many games like Ashcroft and Reid.

If its purely on production I think they have the top 12 right but think the top 6 should be (order could be argued):
1. Daicos
2. Butters
3. Gulden
4. Serong
5. Walsh
6. Warner

These guys have played multiple all australian level seasons (team or squad).

The next group is guys whove played multiple high level seasons but not reached the same peaks:
7. Green
8. Sheezel
9. JHF
10. Anderson
11. Rowell
12. Rankine

Then you start dipping more into potential, though you could argue Kosi and Newcombe belong with the above.

Isn't there already a Nicky thread somewhere on here for this sort of Pie glazing? Or did it get moved to the Bay after being widely ridiculed by neutral posters?
The article that the thread is about lists Nick Daicos at number 1, so the comment is very relevant to this thread.

Or is there a new rule on the Main Board that we can only mention Nick Daicos in the Daicos GOAT thread that I'm not aware of?

The word "Daicos" is enough to turn you straight into a furious toddler. You must be in triple digits for posts crying about how overrated he is.

Crippa is obvious but he won't be under 25 next year. There'd be a few on the list Fox provided above, hard ball gets are as vital as ever in todays AFL and unfortunately that's not Daicos' expertise.
Hang on...

You were indicating you would have 'a few' under 25's ahead of Daicos?

LOLOLOL.

In sheezels defence he’s played 2 afl seasons

1: in his debut season he got more possessions than any other first year player in history

2: in his second season he made the all Aust squad, ranked in the top 10 players in the comp, broke the record for youngest 20 contested possession games, highest % of score involvements etc.

If played for any other club he’d be an all Aust already

Whether you like Daicos or not, recent Brownlow results alone would indicate he's clearly #1 on that list currently and it's not particularly close, as of season 2024.

Having said that, Sheezel should probably be higher and I see him contending for #1 as soon as next year.

having said that, it's a very strange list. Half the players are there on output and others on potential only, it seems.

Sheezel has all of them covered at the same age
