Selwood every time there was a ground ball he leads with the head, when that clown retires and then sues the AFL for compo for head injuries I hope the AFL give him nothing.

Gryan Miers is another one learning his craft from sh*t leadership, this boy goes looking for the umps every since time.

Its just a terrible look. Literally every possession he tries it. Dangerflop is just as bad.

Always have their arms out pleading for a free kick

Yes. Saw the Selwood incident with Baker and was surprised at the time.
Selwood always pushes the limits, that's the way he plays.
He's going to get away with what he can get away with.
At least twice Danger chases after Dusty and tries to lay a tackle but he falls over.
No comparison between Dusty and Danger, although the media had liked to discuss it in the build up.
The proof is in the pudding, like Dimma says.

After watching the game again I've come to realise how important Lynch was to our game. Initially, I thought Lynch did two thirds of fruit all and was near worthless. But after watching again I appreciated how much hard work he did just to get to the drop of the ball. Sometimes taking on 3 or 4 players just to get there to make sure the Cats didn't get the mark. While at the same time he was being held, shepparded and blocked out of the contest. He fought them all and went up anyway. It was unrealistic to believe he was going to come out of situations like that with a mark.
The ball hitting the ground was all that really mattered. Costanza, Edward and company were flying down in waves to get the ball once it hit the deck and the other important thing I realised only on the second time of watching was that alot of the Cats defenders were tall big guys. Our small forwards look like mice scuttling around their feet. That gave us an advantage with a decked ball.

I'd love to be able to sit and watch what Richmond got up to during the half time break because it looked a completely different game after half time.
The defence was again excellent. First to survive the 2nd quarter bombardment that somehow left Richmond behind by 15 points...it really should have been by 30 points or more. It seemed we couldn't get the ball past half way for most of that quarter. And then to only give up 14 points after half time, especially on the big stage during a Grand Final is beyond exceptional.

Dusty is friggen Hercules out there. That last goal where he made a joke out of Danger's tackle and kicking the goal was epic.
Good post.

I watched it again just before.

What a second half. Once we adjusted, we dropped it straight into the next gear and we weren't going to get caught. What a bloody team.

Marlion Pickett. Apart from that one lousy handball he did, he was a bull. Everytime he went into a contest, to tackle or win the footy, he went bloody hard. It was sensational to see. This guy is a star. The fairytale continues and I couldn't be more happier or proud for him. A Tiger for life, his efforts in the Grand Final represents the fabric of a grand final game. Hard and tough.

And Baker, what a year this boy has had, he is so reliable now, gives his all, really part of the Richmond fabric. Balta, could not be happier that this kid got himself a flag. More deserved than Dangerfield, Noah has incredible upside, this will only boost his confidence and hunger!

We are so fortunate to be apart of this train ride to Dynasty glory right now. Pure joy to watch this team develop and now reap the rewards or tireless work, buying in to the Richmond way and strategy, and applying it week in, week out.

So proud to be a Tiger man! Love this club!:richmond::trophy:

weakest captain in the league duckwood

The preliminary against GWS was magic .I think a twilight start with half time coinciding with sunset so the sun doesn't effect the players would be awesome.
Unfortunately the game is run by money and ratings,1 million more watched the game at night.

I prefer the day game.

An Adelaide fan on the radio made a good point on sen,he said you remember games of the past by the weather conditions they were played in,when it’s night, all the games look the same.

Maybe shift the game to a twilight ,half the game day then night for the second half?

I still prefer the daytime, gives families time to enjoy it after it finishes.

Lynch at times takes four defenders, so the opposition has no chance if he taps it down to open space, where the crumbers are waiting.
Then they pass the ball out to the furthermost player.
Martin genuinely instills fear too.
Remember the booming kick to Riewoldt and the Geelong defender panics.
There was another sensational kick by Martin to the goalsquare early too, when he squared it from the pocket, did not result in a goal.

lel about 4 minutes before half time Geelol have started playing like cocky bastards and are laughing with each other, and bruce saying they might be too far ahead already

Can't stop watching that.

Love James Brayshaw ".....p*ss off"

To be fair to Whateley he called this goal before it happened, fantastic call by him.

Re-watching the game. If JR and Tom had had their marking and kicking at top form they'd each have 4 goals. Strange how dominant we were with them a bit off.

And Short was massive, both defensively and attacking. People still criticise his defence, but damn he's solid now. And he was totally dominant moving the ball.

Losing Vlas caused us so many problems in the first half. At 1/2 time we got sorted.

If Danger hadn't hit him I reckon the game would have been very different. Our disorganised defence would have controlled the game and it would have been much more even. 2nd half would have been even more of a massacre

I got banned on the Geelong board as they potted our game style calling it "Auskick"..........well maybe they need to have a good hard look at their own game style as it obviously keeps failing them time and time again.

GO THE MIGHTY TIGERS

p.s posting this asap as i think i'm about to cop another ban from them

It was still down by a massive 300k for the Dogs v Swans day grand final.

100,000 of Saturday's extra million should have been at the game, next night granny those not interested wont be in house detention with nothing else to watch.

Tens of thousands of parties will have 10 or more watching one TV, pubs will have thousands watching, that needes to be factored in.

I'd love to know how many watch the game each year. Covid lockdown viewers aside, I doubt any more would h ave watched Sat night than '17, '18 or '19.

I agree with twilight. Start at 4pm, finish around 8 under lights.

I hated the fact that by the time I kind of got my head around the fact that we won and started cruising the internet to read some reviews and etc. it was one thirty in the morning.

A night final leaves no time for any sort of celebration if, like me, you're just not a night owl.

Sucks.
Totally agree.
6pm finish, watch the after celebrations, then have a shower and head of to a party or into the city.
Night game sucked. And it felt like watching a prelim, not granny.

Absolutely incredible!
have you lads noticed with the **** off danger goal dusty scored in the granny he didnt attack stanley like most players would

he saw the situation, bumbling ruck and danger standing in front of him, dusty knew 100% because stanley is cooked he will auto handball to danger without looking, so instead of going for the tackle like ordinary players would , he was smart he ran in between stanley and danger and stole the handball and scored the goal

thats why he is so good, he has it all, power, speed , skills, poise and smarts
