Lloyd banging on about Adelaide have recruited and drafted well. How does this compare to our recruiting and drafting over the last 5 years taking into account our higher draft picks including compensation picks? :stern look

And let me remind you how Adelaide showed us how it feels like when they’re on the outside. Why is our list still lacking quality on “The Outside”? :stern look

Is old mate from Treasury Gardens writing your material. Can you see the truth that is staring you in the face? If so do you have the balls to post that truth? Stop with the deflective nonsense. Why are Adelaide well ahead of where we are at when back in 2020 they were rabble and stone motherless last? :stern look
Why?

Because its taken them over seven years to rebuild their side after they ****ed everything at that camp.

Since 2020 they've had one coach and had the benefit of being one of two clubs in their state for players returning home and even with that stability and slight recruiting advantage they were still a bottom four side last season.

And finally, tho its only three games in, "it clicked" or "it turned" ... ie the thing you keep saying won't happen for us happened for them. All the bits they were trying to put together came together like a good night at the old Tender Touch.

That's why - after years of stability it finally clicked.

The truth is sterning you in the eyeballs but you refuse to see it.

If their list is so shit hot why have they not finished better than tenth once since 2018 started? Why did they finish in the bottom four last season?

If you can't answer those questions I think your new sig line should be "One day I'll get my head out of my arse and do some work." : extremely stern look

Well... what to say?
  • North didn't get embarrassed, but we still have too many plodders on our list to compete with one of the teams likely to push for top 4 this year, and that's what the Crows are.
  • The difference in this game was the basic skills. We gave away so many opportunities with crap kicks trying to switch the play or find a free runner.
  • Our movement when we have the ball is stagnant. Not enough runners and not enough players presenting options or trying to drag defenders out of congested space.
  • The umpiring did my head in. Rewarding the most blatant ducking with free kicks is straight up bad for the sport.
  • Our defenders did pretty well considering. Pink and McDonald held their own. Comben was okay playing as the loose man (which is his best role). Corr battled but was okay.
  • Our forwards had a stinker of a day. Didn't make the most of opportunities.
  • Our entries forward weren't great either, but I put the blame for this mostly on our forwards as opposed to our midfielders, because every forward entry looks bad if there's no movement up forward.
Not to forget our midfielder's played like crap got ragdolled. LDU has had a quiet start to the year, and I reckon he will show up against Swans due to Jordon going to Sheezel

It's interesting that Clarko was a coach at Port when he won his premiership medallion, yet Korn has absolutely nothing good to say about Clarko ever.

It was obvious what Comben's role was - the same as what got him coaches votes in a win the week before. That allowed McDonald to go to Fogarty where he played his best game since forever. The other defensive match ups were exactly what any coach would have gone with.

Sheezel's below his best but not to panic station level - he's 20, had 3 just OK games and is learning to be the big midfield gun in an ordinary team. Leave him there and see if he can work it out.

And not playing Darling in the team at all because he couldn't ruck all day with X hurt? Seriously. JD has 4 goals in 3 games, has freed up Souv to lead the Coleman, competes in the ruck yet he's out and Teakle is in? FFS.
I’d like this but I lost my privileges for lol reacting to two crows posts on their board ****ing sooks

LOL. It was you who posted “They're a season or two further down the road.” I asked you why that is. You replied with some condescending drivel summoning old mate from Treasury Gardens. Then I asked you again why that is. You asked Why? I assume that meant why you should respond. Then you proceeded to respond (LOL) with the nonsense above claiming stability is the reason why it’s finally clicked for Adelaide. Rightio. You’re telling the story Ferballs. I’m simply asking the questions. Like Creed predicted your response would be laughable. :smirk look

Regarding to where Adelaide are at, well who have they beaten thus far? Looking forward to them meeting some of the better teams in the comp. :stern look

They've had stability and time to work on their game plan for years.

You asked this:

Why are Adelaide well ahead of where we are at when back in 2020 they were rabble and stone motherless last?
The answer is obvious. They've had stability and time to work on their game plan for years. In case you missed it the first time.

Unless you're suggesting that Isaac Cumming and James Peatling have rocketed them from 15th to 2nd. Cos that actually would be laughable.

Its just pressure. Adelaide brought a ton of it and when we did the same to them they had their issues as well. They're a season or two further down the road, that's all.

I don't think anyone else (outside North people) really expected us to be as close to Adelaide as we were yesterday.

They're a damn good side and second on the ladder with a humungous percentage for a reason. Next week they play the Suns on the GC. That will be an interesting game.

Guys like Rankin and Dawson show we need more speed around the ball. GC have that but Adelaide should still be strong favorites.
When the pressure is applied is why you need to be drilled.

You practice a golf swing on the driving range under no pressure til the mechanics are sound. Then when under pressure it doesnt break down as you have the muscle memory of the correct technique learned. All pressure does is amplify the flaws, we still have plenty.

They say you play as you train, this is an example. Players need to be invested as well. You cant get your systems fine tuned when you have players off at the basketball or rugby for example rather than being with the team.

This is why it takes a few years to develop a side. Its not just the kicking, its the decisions beforehand - the ability to see an option or the appropriate space and trust you can hit it and your teammate will be there. One of the issues with Caleb Daniel is that ain't happening for him.

We still stuff around with the ball alot buying time to find an option. We've got good players who can do that tho, otherwise we'd be swamped more often.

Really, despite Clarkson's three preseasons he's only had one full year with the side on field and even that had a major piece removed two months before the season started. You can see it starting to come together but its still a work in progress.

I don't think its just the kicking. Its get the ball, look to a spot and kick under some duress. Those split seconds to make the decision are also something that needs to be put into muscle memory/motor schema etc. You only really know its gonna work if you've done it under pressure from real opposition.

Yep.

Adelaide still have too much reliance on Tex whilst wishing him no ill there’s a high chance he’ll get injured during the season due to his age. Secondly they have a distinct home ground advantage and 2 of their 3 wins have come at home. Thirdly it’s the start of the season and their past form does not auger well, once they start hitting the better teams and playing teams like our at our home ground then they’ll be dropping back down to reality pretty quickly, I’d be surprised if they make top 10. Also I can’t see them getting better it’s like they’ve peaked now whereas our upside is huge. I reckon the Crows will prove to be an excellent launching pad for our finals campaign in Rd24 bookmark it 😎

The crackheads from the crows fan base are saying X meant to break Rachelle’s ribs. Lol

Hey ****ers if he was going to target someone - it’d at least be a good player

Some people cannot wrap their tiny little brains around the difference between hard and malicious.

X is a ball player who goes when it’s his turn. Every time.

F*** them and their feelings.

I just had a look at that and there's a whole lot of them saying nothing in it, then one of them who started the fuss says "yeah I looked properly, nothing in it."

Good on them.
