LOL merging LOL

Renault baled knowing Nissan was faaaaarked..

Nissan was going belly up before Honda stepped in and came to the rescue!!!

Japanese carmakers Honda Motor and Nissan Motor is exploring a mega merger, which will also involve Mitsubishi Motor, in which Nissan is the top shareholder with a 24% stake. The merger would see Honda management taking a leadership role in a newly formed formed Japanese holding company by 2026. Make no mistake – this deal is nothing but to keep Nissan from going bust.

Good to see you missed the main part of the post. EVs as opposed to ICE.

PS : It appears regional voters have more faith in renewables policy rather than the nuclear policy. Freshwater Strategy poll.

Don't go getting your hopes up lest you'll be disappointrd, Australia is an altogether different beast.

Cuppla hybrids is the best Australia can do...zero EV's.

Yes because we make our own cars.

It is going to happen, it is just a matter of time and the new Emission Standards will help.

Then we have the number of individuals with SUVs etc who literally struggle to manoeuvre them.

The answer is .. because some people are not all that bright.

I remember some of the TV advertising around AIDS in the late 80’s being brutal.

Yes, because avoiding the specific practices that spread HIV is just as easy as stopping the spread of an airborne virus that is transmitted through the everyday functions of society.

Should we have tried to keep Covid out of Australia permanently through border closures, quarantine and intermittent lockdowns forever? What would the precautionary principle say about that proposed action?

Are you trying to say that if the mitigations were not taken before we had the vaccines we would have still had only the same amount of deaths? Or does your morning latte matter more than lives?
Any you totally missed the HIV relevance.

Greenies at it again in WA, please note the word is greenies Mr centrist. Greenies in this case = South West Forest Defence Foundation. Clueless idiots sums them up.

The foundation, which includes prominent scientists and environmentalists, favours a rapid detection and suppression response to bushfires rather than the current approach, which is to burn 200,000 hectares annually across the south-west forest regions, and five million hectares statewide, to reduce fuel loads.
In response, the Bushfire Front advocacy group has released its own pamphlet critiquing the foundation’s “flawed” proposal, saying it’s not based on sound science and would have disastrous outcomes in the event of a major bushfire. It states there is no evidence prescribed burns are destroying native ecosystems; that smoke from controlled burns poses less of a risk to public health than a major fire; and that the response-only method was trialled and failed in WA in the early 1900s. "Response-only is the fire control system used in NSW and Victoria but has failed spectacularly.”

More evidence of the disgusting levels of largese by the Andrews/Allan Victorian ALP Government, total disrespect for Victorian taxpayers money. Useless incompetent treasurer Tim Pallas absolutely bankrupts the state under his tenure and has the temerity shortly before he resigns to head off on an overseas jaunt that costs taxpayers $72, 683. Absolute rort!!!

Analysis of Tim Pallas’s travel expenses since 2015 shows he spent $650,000 of public money on luxury travel

Jetsetting former treasurer Tim Pallas slugged taxpayers a staggering amount for 14 international junkets.

Jetsetting former treasurer Tim Pallas slugged taxpayers more than $650,000 during a decade of luxury travel in the top job.
An analysis of Mr Pallas’ travel expenses since 2015 reveals the eye-watering cost of his 14 international junkets.
Details of his $72,683 farewell tour of the UK, France, Italy and Spain in October – as he planned to resign from politics – were published this month.
They showed more than $37,000 was spent on airfares, $22,000 on accommodation and almost $13,000 on other expenses for Mr Pallas and his chief of staff.
But shadow minister for industry and economic growth, Jess Wilson, said the trip missed the mark.

“How can the Allan Labor government justify spending more than $70,000 of taxpayer money on Tim Pallas’ international farewell tour?” she said.

“With the trip including meetings to sell off Victoria’s debt to English and French banks, the Premier must answer why she is sending her ministers overseas to grow Victoria’s debt rather than grow Victoria’s economy.”

Despite insisting he had no plans to quit politics midterm, Mr Pallas resigned in December after months of speculation about his political future.

He left Victoria on track to reach a projected debt of $188bn by 2027-28, after inheriting $22.3bn in debt in 2014.

Yeh…….nah. Unlikely.

It still would be replacing petrol/diesel ICE vehicles which at the end of the day is the main game.

EVs or possibly Hydrogen (still many drawbacks) are the future.

The big problem with Hydrogen powered cars is the lack of refueling points in Australia. Last time I checked there were only a couple in Melbourne and 1 in Canberra.

Hydrogen powered cars - either ICE or fuel cell - have the advantage of quick refuelling, on par with petrol/diesel. They don't require lengthy stops, while the battery is recharged.

It's still very much an open question as to whether Hydrogen or battery EVs will win out, or even if we'll have a mix of vehicles on the road (as we have long had with petrol & diesel).

Then there's the question of how the Hydrogen is created, as this process requires a LOT of electricity. Hydrogen isn't very green if the electricity used to split H2 from O in water comes from coal generators.

What relevance did I miss? HIV transmission vectors are totally different to Covid and it's a permanent disease that is fatal to every case without treatment (which at best prevents it getting worse but never cures it).

The tweet has been deleted, probably because the author realised how dumb their argument was. Yet here you are doubling down on it. 🤔

HIV was untreated for 10 years until they discovered AIDS was caused by it.
Is Covid being treated or is it allowed to run rampant?

Surely anti -Communist MAGA will
See Musk for what he is now and loudly denounce him?

Surely?
I mean, if they have an ounce of respect for themselves after calling anyone they don’t agree with a Commie.🤔

You would be totally conflicted by this. It would blow the head off every lefty. 🤣

Why is this in the Australian politics thread.

Are the existing coronavirus strains being "allowed to run rampant"? Is the flu? It's called normal life.

I didn't think there was anyone left who thought Covid eradication was ever possible.

Confine your usual tripe to the appropriate thread and that's certainly not in this thread.

Both sides do it, not sure why you get so triggered by it.

It ain’t right at all but to get all upset over it, not worth the bother.
