Yes agreed but I watched Wang today and she was very good, hitting winners galore. Will be a tough match, I would back Wang for sure.Big chance for our junior world no.1 Emerson Jones to pick up her first ever WTA Tour win in Adelaide tomorrow morning when she faces Chinese qualifier Xinyu Wang. Real chance to make strides with her ranking and build some momentum before the AO if she can pick up a win or two this week.
So would I. Emerson is definitely the underdog. Just pointing out that it's a big opportunity for her. Especially considering she's only 16 years old.Yes agreed but I watched Wang today and she was very good, hitting winners galore. Will be a tough match, I would back Wang for sure.
Look like he has called itOpelka if your Injured you retire. No point being out there.
100%. Probably less now with the Sunday start, but you should still have the choice of quite a few matches.Wasn't sure where to ask this question but was planning to head to the AO with a ground pass for evening session on the first Monday evening. Just checking are there likely to still be games on the outside courts in the evening?
Probably a good time to revisit this comment after Emerson Jones pulled off a massive upset by defeating the world number 37 in Adelaide today. We don't need to look at her junior results anymore - she proved today that she can do it against top 50 WTA players and is only 16 years old! This comes on the heels of 18 year old Maya Joint's impressive performances in Brisbane last week. Both will make their Australian Open main draw debut next week.Just Be VERY careful looking at juniors. Tomic was this great white hope junior no1 too. A lot of these female junior no1’s have done very little lately, probably the only one that may realise her potential is Andreeva, Coco might have forget if she was no1 in juniors though (not really a fan of hers so I forget). There’s been some weird junior world no1’s lol. There are some young girls coming but I have zero expectations as frankly the development is horrific, the lack of funding is a huge problem whereas in Europe and US they have big academies eg. Bolleteri academy in Florida is one (one taht a few have come from incl Sharapova). The test will be how to nurture the talent, weirdly their best hope is to not use the Australian system but go to Europe develop their game over there in a European tennis academy or in the States
Plays Kasatkina next looking forward to thatProbably a good time to revisit this comment after Emerson Jones pulled off a massive upset by defeating the world number 37 in Adelaide today. I think it's fair to say that the future looks bright for our female tennis players.

I haven't been following the women's side of the tour but must have been the shortest retirement ever for Danielle Collins?
I hate these tournaments before a slam for this reason any “niggle” and there’s a million retirements
Agree on Australian players needing to leave home to train in Europe. Look at how the Russians and other countries leave home at a young age and train in Spain, France and even Germany. The US have college tennis we don't have that either. It is a lot different now and juniors need to get any advantage as they can. I would love Hewitt to leave home and go train in Spain and learn on clay. Develop his game and get away from his parents for a bit.
