This game has been getting a few mentions in the general thread and I imagine a few are going to pick it up so probably worth having its own thread.

Who is keen? It looks like a really good average game (if that makes sense). I avoid reviews but have checked out a few impression like Gameranx and it looks decent with some rough edges. I've started preload so look forward to jumping in day one.

Hopefully it is decent enough, have it on preload.
Did read that some of the survival elements can be scrolled which suits me for a casual playthrough.

Had a little go at it last night, I'm liking it so far. The British Fallout comparisons seem on point, but there is very much a mystery element that distinguishes it and is relying on to keep you on the hook. Combat is not very finessed, but the way enemies & NPCs react towards you (if they see you skulking, if you have a weapon raised, that sort of stuff) is well done. I've read the main campaign is 25 hours without doing all the side quests, so there's plenty to do.

I didn't think it was out until tomorrow? Or is there early access with an actual purchase?

I'm one of those suckers who needs to have the top edition of everything...i purchased the digital deluxe edition (even though it's on GP, but it's the sort of game I can see myself revisiting even if I were to cancel GP, so wanted to own it). 3 day early access included.

Playing on XBox btw, not Windows.

Had another small play last night, it really is an interesting setting and story so far. I haven't encountered any bugs yet, so the Day 1 patch shouldn't be too big.

Only criticism so far is the graphics. While the scenery looks great from a distance, this is not so apparent up close. Character models are of PS4/XBone standard.

Played an hour. Ran around the first area a bit, did L6 and just got the Interchange. Pretty cool. While there are obvious comparisons to Fallout I think that would be a little unfair as it's sort of its own thing. The investigations to reveal quest steps is neat. Early on but I kind of don't get hostility. Outlaws have pretty much tried attacking me on sight but at the Interchange it says trespassing and enemies will be more hostile? I did only just learn I could holster my weapon so maybe they didn't like me running around with a cricket bat but I swear they still attacked me when I had a torch out.

Stealth mechanics are also a little odd; you can hide in pretty much any area of long grass, no matter how big the actual patch is. The Day 1 wasn't very big, and the game already seemed reasonably polished during my play during early access. I only noticed one Outlaw having issues when they were after me and I hid in grass and they sort of glitched backwards with their gun raised and wouldn't come out of it.

I am liking that the survival aspects aren't overly hardcore from what I've seen so far, no requirement to eat (except to restore health), drink water, sleep, etc.

But the setting and mystery are the main hook, and I can see myself getting lost in this one for a while.
