This is a new season, and we're going to kick things off with a little bit of a change.

This thread is for discussion of the games we aren't playing in. It is not a thread to constantly refer to how well/badly we are going in our own games, nor is it a place to ruin the enjoyment of others with constant jabs or referrals to Carlton's woes.

Any posts that do so continuously will get deleted, and anyone who continues to push the envelope afterwards will find themselves threadbanned.

Geelong appear to playing very well - Melbourne not so well.

I really like the way Geelong move the ball and the way they spot up targets up forward, there small forwards are very creative and appear to execute by foot very well.

I’m noticing in this game how Geelong appear to be very well structured, always having a loose man outside of the contest, and also a man loose in defence that is intercepting Melbourne’s poor kicking into their attacking 50.

I’m noticing in this game that I’m watching that Melbourne seem to be relying on their name players to do all the work and if they are not up to the task that there lesser players don’t appear to be taking up the slack.

Does anyone else see in this game that the Melbourne players seem to be sucked into the contest which is allows Geelong to have one man outside the contest for a quick release?

That was a particularly good effort from Petracca - but is it a case of Melbourne relying on too few.

Looking closely at this game I don’t believe Melbourne are coming, I firmly believe that Geelongs superior coaching and team structures and cleaner execution - as demonstrated by that last goal will result in their victory tonight.
