This is a new season, and we're going to kick things off with a little bit of a change.

This thread is for discussion of the games we aren't playing in. It is not a thread to constantly refer to how well/badly we are going in our own games, nor is it a place to ruin the enjoyment of others with constant jabs or referrals to Carlton's woes.

Any posts that do so continuously will get deleted, and anyone who continues to push the envelope afterwards will find themselves threadbanned.

Thanks all!

GC has always struggled to win away. Melbourne were genuinely awful during the second, but challenged at times during the third only to have GC just impose themselves and keep scoring.

They're a reasonable side this year, I think. A genuine HG advantage coupled with two away wins; their hardest fixtures are Geelong down there, the giants at Engie, and Adelaide in Adelaide. Brisbane in Brisbane is tricky but they have that fixture every year.

They get all the Melbourne clubs at Marvel rather than the G, though.

Dee’s were putrid and sunny biys were good

Hardwick has been good for suns so far …challenge is for them to play good consistent footy across most of tge season …including away games

They’re a lot bigger.

From the bits I saw, Sunnyboys just bullied the Dee’s, especially in the middle.

Giants any chance in tas? hmm pretty big advantage?
If the Giants drop their heads and get trounced, it's no indication for the rest of their season; they're a weird side, really. They can just go on a tear and play irresistable footy for months and then lose a game by 80 points out of the blue.

What this is IMO is a good test for Hawthorn. Are they as good as they've looked or are they only as good as they're allowed to play?

They run away with this by a big margin after being challenged, they're every chance to be a fair dinkum side this year.
