Absolutely. As I said last year in the middle of our hot streak, football is unpredictable, so you need to enjoy the good times when they happen. This is the part of the year when anything is possible, so I'm happy to indulge in fantasies about a Sheldrick Brownlow, crushing finals wins, and a Logan McDonald contested mark.

I really hope the fresh set of eyes with Cox at the helm is enough to push us to one step better in 2025.

I would also be really curious to know what happened last year as after the midseason break we didn't look anywhere near the side we were in the first half of the season and I don't think I have heard an adequate explanation as to what happened. I hope Cox knows and will be able to prevent it from happening this year.

IMO we need more forward half fire power, too mid reliant for our scoring, and we are one tall defender short and need to find an outlet marking option to challenge IMO. Our best hope is the game keeps tilting towards smaller forward lines and that Leidler and Paton hit the ground running.

We'll be very competitive but just missing a bit too much structurally IMO.

What will really interest me is the reactions to that GF loss, the new coach and Warners attitude. We're not without hope but we'll need a few specifics to go our way. Mills leadership out on the park will be valuable

We've a good squad. I think we'll make top 6 depending on injuries.

Don't ask me if we make the Grand Final from there.

Do you think we make the grand final from there ?

Yes.
As I said in hopes and expectations I have both. I think my expectations will be met and think there's a reasonable chance most of my hopes will be too. Not unrealistic.
We should review at Round 8, Round 16 and the end of H&A.

Probably a mental relapse after being on top for so many weeks.

As to the Lions I think we're a decent chance to go B2B but much will depend on the attitude of the players and whether the hunger and drive is still there.

Don’t be greedy

Time healed us from the abomination that was the 2024 GF. Cricket season over in Australia, Australia winning Test series and finally beating India perhaps made me forget all about it.

All I can say is, we go again.

You should be going B2B2B.
I'll die on the hill of belief that Vic umps robbed you blokes in '23 with that dreadful advantage call to Neale.

Having looked at the highlights of the last match sim some things stick out. Everybody played in red and everyone played in grey. Andrew will be a player in the same vein Aliir was. He is very athletic and reads the play well. Some of his work was good because he kept an eye on the ball at all times and was able to mop up.

Mitchell was amongst the action. Very prominent. Byce was in it up to his ears. Green did well in the ruck, incredibly mobile. Another who is a Ruck/Mid. The defences seemed to be on top. Even though Hamling seemed prominent. Ollie is a star.

Interesting highlights. It was messy but I expected that. Playing between your list is easy for players because they know what their opponents will do. That give you a very scrappy game as players seek to and do cover moves the other players make. The ball spends a lot of time in dispute and it is hard to get a system going.
