I figure if the AFL fairly applies the Fyfe Rule this week that there should be a fair few suspensions starting with McVeigh from Sydney (elbow to the head). I am sure there are others

Im almost sure that they wont apply the fyfe rule fairly especially on one of their fav clubs in Sydney.

There's been heaps of bumps this week that will be looked at and IF the AFL show consistency most, if not all will be gone for a week or two

Absolute joke of a rule that's taking players natural instinct out of the game. I was watching the Sydney vs Adelaide game, Buddy was on a lead and looked the goods for the grab but an Adelaide player dropped back to cut off the ball. Franklin could've/should've laid a bump on the Adelaide player which would've brought the ball to the ground but instead Buddy has stopped and moved out of the way/ ran past the man which ended up being an uncontested mark for the Adelaide player... Last year Buddy would've laid a bump and that ball would've spilt to the ground for a possible goal. I'm pretty certain everyone watching that game would've loved to see Buddy lay the bump but it's to risky these days.

The AFL need to either eliminate the bump all together or go back to the old rules.

I hate to say but I think the fact that Matera and Rich were bleeding is very important. It's not about the incident itself otherwise they'd be 20 odd players getting suspended for the same rule every week. It's about the look for the game not how bad it actually is. Rather bs if I'm right as it's no more than luck whether there's blood or not but tbh I see no other logically reasons Fyfe and Hunt were suspended and others weren't apart from pure bias.

Rischitelli is the name you're grasping for not Matera Docker82 and coincidentally the family manufacture these.

Draw your own conclusions about the injury as an advertising stunt which got the AFL considering the product as compulsory,if The Hairy Greek Dictator gets a 78% margin.
To command the requisite publicity to get the deal over the line Fyfe had to cop 2.

If Fyfe got 2 weeks, what would this get under today's rules?

That's sh!t. Pickett faked to contest the ball then absolutely drilled the poor bastard that was focused on the ball.

Will probably get called a softc0ck non-footy player for this, but I'm glad that kind of stuff has been eliminated from the game.

Looked like a shoulder rather than an elbow. Light contact so he might escape with a reprimand if they go for negligent.

He came off with a blood nose and a cut on his cheek. About the same as Rischitelli.
Must have been some sh!t angles in the footage. Looked like almost no head to head contact from the couple of angles I saw on the afl website footage.

As did the Fyfe incident when you watched in real time.

Given May's was a harder hit than Fyfe, it's hard to see how it could be insufficient force as it was greater force.

I think you may find you just don't get it;you are attempting to apply logic, rationality and propriety to a process which is entirely different.:(:confused:

The angles were different. May had time to pick his spot and ducked his head to the right. If he hadn't it would've been a pretty clear head clash I reckon.

Hard to tell from the footage and the iPad screen.

I think Heath Hocking's hit on Kade Simpson tonight must be reviewed based on the Fyfe scenario. It was accidental but high and left Simpson feeling his jaw.....could be handy for us but that would rely on the MRP being consistent and we all know how that ends :(

No, no, no that's not how it works. The AFL will knee-jerk after its initial knee-jerk into not reprimanding players for this stuff. In fact, it's unlikely the rule will be enlivened again this year, mark it.
