Sex and politics as not the distinct issues as you believe them to be. If you pickup a university newspaper, you will find that the left-wing devotes considerable resources to attacking females that wear mini-shirts, or those females that show any kind of appreciation towards anything. As these females are always being attacked, by default, the obnoxious left-wing woman is left as the ideal that women should aspire to be like, and that men should aspire to attain. As sex is a powerful motivator, the left-wing is thus empowered with a level of desirability that it does not deserve. In turn, this identity assimilates people towards it, as they too want some level of desirability. Once the identity is assimilated, inductees will support any issue that is deemed to be in the interest of the left-wing. Opposing the Greenhouse effect is one of many such issues.
Talking about my sexual preferences is one way of demonstrating that the left-wing is not as desirable as some left-wingers believe it to be. I appreciate that one voice does not make a huge difference, and I also appreciate that my one voice is being drowned out by the thousands of voices that control the ABC, Fairfax, the Public Service, and University newspapers around Australia. That said, sponsoring a third-world child doesn't make a huge difference to alleviating global poverty either, yet it is no reason to keep one's hands in one's pockets. All we can do is be true to ourselves. If I can save one man from wasting time with a left-wing sheila, or save one lady from becoming a left-wing sheila, then I can feel like I’ve made a difference.
