Used to bob up and play on the half back flank or second rover from memory before heading back to the ressies.

Got chatting about footy etc, his daughter was, (is?) dating Matthew Kruezer - (a bit of trivia for you).

I saw him play a fair bit in the SANFL, before he headed east, and he looked a fantastic player. The fact that he never quite made it in the big league was a real surprise, as he seemed to have a lot going for him!

He always appeared to be injured. Play a couple of games, then out for a few weeks. Had a great turn of speed when he was at his best.

It had to be injuries that stopped him from making it, as he definitely had the talent (he kicked 6 goals in just his 3rd VFL game - that was for South Melbourne).

In a recent Rhett Bartlett video on YouTube he's playing at full forward alongside Boofa at Moorabbin. Looked to be a good accurate kick.

He played at the Cats and Tigers. His brother Damien played at the Pies.

Yep. Damian Houlihan was a genuine prodigy playing full-forward for Corowa Rutherglen in the O and M. Ricky Barham (cult hero?) was in pies recruiting at the time and was all over landing him. Never quite worked out for Damian but the kid was so good at the time.
