AFL Silver Membership Waitlist Number Part 2

They were my comments the last survey earlier this season. Not that the muppets who get paid huge sums of money to make the decisions take any notice.

I thought Bronze was on a waitlist for Silver, and not Gold?

I have noticed that last year there was a flat fee for Bronze, now they have added a joining fee on top.

What's even weirder is that in the junior category, the Silver is a cheaper option than the Bronze (excluding the joining fee) even though you have more games, gold waitlist, etc.

Junior Bronze is $225 (without joining fee) whereas Silver is $190 for the year.
I was Silver with my wife for years. We had 2 kids during covid and hardly went to games. a few years ago I was allowed to drop to Bronze but keep the waitlist for gold. That has changed for 2025. To stay on the waitlist for Gold, you have to be a paying Silver member.

Hopefully I get to more games this year... like others have mentioned you need to go to 15 games or so to break even.

They allowed silvers to go to bronze and remain on the waitlist, but that has changed. Now you have to remain silver to be on the waitlist for gold and now that silver is full there is a waitlist to get silver.

Well, they have had 12 months to realise that kids bronze being more expensive than kids silver doesn't make sense but it seemed to slip past them a second time.
It's like when I get my kids Macca's and they say "it's actually cheaper to get 24 nuggets instead of 20"

I looked at downgrading to bronze last year for my kids and even checked with the AFL and it was tge same. Totally illogical.
Yeah, late last year I emailed about both Bronze and Silver for my kid (before they sold out the junior silver and had the waitlist going). When they told me that Silver was the cheaper ongoing option, I had to email them again to confirm in case it was a mistake. Ended up being a no brainer and got her on Silver straight away. Also helped that I "referred" her and got both her and myself $50 off our memberships.

So I was bronze this year and was hoping to move up to silver; how does this work? Can't find a waitlist number anywhere, in fact absolutely no information about it at all aside from my invoice for my bronze membership for next year
I would call them. I didn't think there be much of a wait to get silver

Moved from 1259 to 795 FFS - this is going to take years. I thought things might move faster if they were going to stop allowing ppl to downgrade/defer and retain eligibility?
Just maybe there will be a decent jump next when downgrades and deferers realise the game is up and don't renew.
I am annoyed, I wanted to go bronze for this year and they told me I couldn't, so I stuck with silver, but it sounds like I could have.

Have you been silver before?

I was silver and went down to bronze for a few years to save cash. I rang them up and I kept my waitlist spot but have to pay for silver membership from now on

If you haven't still ring them up. They will issue you a new invoice for silver renewal
