He has kicked goals. Yesterday he kicked two. That's two more than Travis Cloke, and one more than Tyson Goldsack. How is he never where the ball is? Yesterday he had 14 touches in the wet! Your argument is purely ad hominem at best. If you are incapable of discerning what he provides our forward line then I suggest you re-watch the last two games, and pay close attention to his frenetic tackling pressure and movement.

Love his intensity and defnsive pressure. Not as concenrned as others about his kicking - I reckon that he's an ok kick who just gets blood rushes when shooting for goal. My big problem with him is that he never ever gets front and centre.

I have seen some suburb field kicks from Sinclair, and yes I completely agree, he gets a rush of blood kicking for goals.

Caffer & Seeds aren't up to AFL standard (naybe yet) i'm afraid.. will be omit !

I will reserve my judgement on McCaffer. He is lacking match fitness and awareness, which is understandable given his recent history. I think he should definitely be given a spell in the reserves just to work on his ball sense and pressure. Yesterday was a small forwards dream environment, so it is quite disappointing to see that McCaffer had virtually no impact - even off the scoreboard.

I suggest you get a better avatar

Sinker stays in. His defensive pressure has been great and we will need this with hawthorn's ball movement off half back. Mooney would be a good in too if possible.

My changes would be:
In - Hudson, Daisy, Frost
Out - Jolly, Macaffer, Seedsman

Seedsman was our weakest player on Sunday. For some reason his poise was non-existent and he made a meal of some chances. Macaffer is a bit unlucky but I think we need to change our structure against the hawks playing Hale, Roughie and Buddy. I would even throw Frost right into the deep end and play him on buddy first off. Russell is another possible out but think he should get one more chance

Not bad but i really think we need to Seedsman a few more games before we cut him down to VFL. He has shown more than enough promise in nab cup to warrant some faith & persistence. Give him the full game to see how he plays it out.

I rather not bring in Frost, let Maxwell take the Hawthorn 3rd tall. Plus Goldsack/O'Brien/Toovey can all play tall in defense should an injury occur.
Frost absolutely annihilated his man in the VFL... Will get the call up. Maxwell isn't half the defender Frost is and last time we played Gunston (or Breust - or both) kicked 5, as well as Lewis. We need Frost.

Out Jolly-Seeds

In Huddo-Thomas.

An extra week in the 2s wont hurt the Fas.

I think it will hurt the team though. he is our 2nd best goal kicker, is a great tackler and is one of our best disposers by foot. I'd love to see him as the sub.

Macaffer has now played 2 poor games in a row and i think some time in the VFL will do his confidence some good. Goldsack has also been average and numerous times didn't give us a contest when he should of.

During last years QF for memory Sinclair did the defensive shut down role on Birchall and restricted him to just 11 disposals. Does Sinclair get that role again or will that be given to say someone like Macaffer?

I think Ben Johnson is finished. Yes he was ok in the last quater but in the first three he was terrible. Players were running off him easily and he looked and played like he was 40.

My changes for this week would be IN: Hudson, Thomas and Kennedy OUT: Jolly, Seedsman and Johnson

I'd say Sinclair will most likely get the position. He has had some success in the past.

T
Thanks for that, Mr. Positive.

You obviously weren't a lurker (welcome to the board BTW)! Ed has that attitude coming into every Hawthorn game and was 3 from 3 last year. The closest we were able to get to them was 6 goals last year and though we've noticeably improved I'm not so convinced its enough especially with a few top liners still out....

I think there is no better game then this to bring in Witts. He would be rucking against Bailey/Hale. Frost must come in with Roughead Franklan Hale And Gunston if he comes back in all down there. So saying that it should be:

IN: Witts Frost Thomas Fasolo
OUT: Jolly Rusell Seedsman Caff

Caff may stay in and leave Fasolo in the VFL for another week. Thoughts?

Man when Sinclair plays well I think "Boy I'm glad we persisted with this kid". Whenever he makes a mistake I want him dropped! I'm glad I'm not a selector.

Without having seen the replay (that's for tonight), based off what I've read I'm gonna say we drop Jolly and Seedsman for Hudson and Daisy.

mate, read through the thread - we can't even decide if Sinclair's playing...

This is too big a game to play Witts, he showed in the nab cup he isn't going to be great yet. Playing Hudson is the only choice. Agree with the rest of your choices.

Give witts 5-6 games this year against teams like melbourne GC bulldogs GWS, where we can afford to get dominated in the ruck if that is what happens.

If the hawks dominate the ruck Mitchell and lewis ect will tear us a new one.
