The slow start is the risk with all players returning from knee injury. If you pick them in your initial team you actually have to hold them for a fair period before they build momentum and make you any cash.
Agree :thumbsu:

I guess what I am driving at is that the more sensible question than

Who's better, Vince or Jetta? is

Who's better in the first 6-8 rounds before I dump him, Vince or Jetta?

Go Jetta imo, but it is a very close call indeed...

These last couple of pages have been a little bit of half decent DT talk, it might be a full moon and an early start for quality talk tonight, fingers crossed!

54Dogs I'm not really looking at coughlan but I'm having the same thoughts about Goddard i read somewhere he is unlikely to start round 1 but your right it does take players a bit to get going after knee reco's but players with the DT quality of goddard, coughlan, (in a sense butler) you'd love to see them back to their best.....although goddard isn't nearly discounted as coughlan

I heard he had an ok game in the reserves last weekend.

Goddard is a great example Crows, priced in the mid 350s he is basically certain to drop in price as they ease him into the season but mid way through there will be nice opportunities to pick him up. I would see Chappy as another example, even though it was groin surgery, because of his price if the Cats ease him back he could be picked up at a nice price.

Definately, they'll be on my radar along with P burger coming back from shoulder surgery and riewoldt when he gets his knee right (if there is anything seriously (i've heard tendonitis) wrong with it).

+ don't forget Bartel almost certain to drop in price.

anytime under 420k, he has to be snapped up imo.

As was discussed the other night in "late night DT" , my worry with Riewoldt is that if rest is whats required to fix the issue and the Saints are well up or down in the last quarter he could be "managed" on the bench. I don't know enough about the injury but I couldn't see the KMs he covers helping it.

It was last night in a Casey Scorpions practice match. He was apparently BOG by a fair margin, played very well through the midfield. From all reports he has slimmed down a fair bit. That to me would suggest he is going to spend more time in the midfield. He didn't have any strapping on his knee.

I did read that comment and toally agreed, but was to tired to put a seconder on it or a here here! it is a big risk with such a big price tag

I presume this is Goddard ??

Doesn't he have to average like 120 each week just to stay at that price.

he could go 115,120 then 70 and bang he would be down to 460 just like that.

Last year in the first 5 rounds he averaged 119.2 with no games under 98. If he does that this year his price will rise to 517K.

By round 12 his average had risen to 119.6 (520K). In the first 12 rounds he had 3 games under 100 (98, 98 & 89).

He is certainly premium but I would dispute that his price is CERTAIN to drop.

Well just got back from the NTFL grand final breakfast with Sheeds and as a Pies backer, i can honestly say Sheeds is a dead set Legand.

So casual and easy to talk to what an absolute pleasure to talk to.

Great day, Unfortunately StMary's flogged Tahs but still a great day....Lazt hunge on THE FUZZ makes the night smoother.

One thing that interested me was Sheeds talking to a youngen (4-6Yo), he said 'who's your fav player' and the kid in a bomber jumper said 'Matty Lloyd' Sheeds straight away said 'What about his hamstrings'?

Leave you with that

He would be 483k if he did that. Lets say he averages 100, It would still take until round 8 for him to be under 450k. I don't think he is going to drop as much as everyone thinks.

No i said almost certain to drop. Just my 2 cents worth anyway.

Thanks for your time.

So it's going to be quite hard for a lot of people (except noobs) to get him until maybe after round 10+.
