The AFL likely had 3 options:

1. They one they've chosen: Move the game forward by 4 days and push the Eagles and Tigers bye back a week.

2. Play the game as a neutral site game due to WA's strict border rules, likely in Sydney. Costing the Eagles a home game.

3. Massively reshape the fixture. The Eagles probably would have to play Brisbane after the bye as the only non Vic teams due to play Vic teams. Richmond would play North. Then a whole bunch of other games would get shuffled, assuming the AFL could even work out an order that gets all the games in.

It's clearly the best option for the AFL and for Richmond, and might be the best option for the Eagles too by avoiding a massive reshuffle. It's a tough game next week but they get the Tigers in their 4th consecutive week on the road and then get a shorter sprint in the back half with the later bye.

I don't think the Eagles have a good case to argue this one.
What about option 4. Tigers spend 4 extra days in Sydney and keep the fixture the same.

I genuinely cannot believe you still don't understand this properly.

What you are suggesting would be for Richmond to go back to Sydney and spend their bye away from their families, come back to Perth, play West Coast on the Thursday night and then go straight back into the season, essentially losing the week break that the players association has negotiated for them.
What you propose is not just an extra 4 days up in Sydney, its losing their entire bye having to stay in a hub away from their families.

Had the schedule stayed the same, they would be back in Melbourne tonight or early Sunday, be on their break and be able to spend the next 11-12 days with their family before flying out to play again. Now that this has been changed, they stay away for 1 more week, but get to go home, likely after the Melbourne lockdown is over and still get to have a proper break at home with their family.

For those saying it's about us complaining, it's just not, it's about WA's border restrictions and the AFL committing to players that they won't need to move into hubs for more than 3 weeks. It's not rocket science, but boy do some of you idiots turn this into something for more complicated than it needs to be.

There was a key difference though in that the Richmond hub was a defined length of time and when West Coast went to the Gold Coast they were not given any indication how long they would be there for. It was the main contention of Simmo's perceived whinging.
What do you mean that the Richmond hub was a defined length of time? It was meant to be 30 days, it ended up being something like 115 days.

If the umpires are Margetts and Dalgleish they won't need anymore help
Anyone who thinks Margetts favours us clearly hasn’t watched any of his recent games against us.

The AFL are simply trying to keep the competition going. They need another game to be played next week so this is the simplest option. We have plenty of injured players that would love another week to recover. Prestia may have been able to play against WC if the bye was next week for example.

Bringing the Tigers back into plague-riddled Melbourne and then expecting the WA government to allow them back in again, is optimist at best. This is not about the AFL favouring Richmond. This is not about trying to allow Richmond less travel time. This is about the AFL trying to keep the competition, that's it.

Maybe its time to take that chip off your shoulder mate and see the bigger picture.

Can you check your notes for the time before that? I'll also accept if you can find any of Adelaide, West Coast, Fremantle, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney or GWS having an extended run of home games / games without leaving the state before 2020.

Collingwood 2010, but that never suited anyones narrative ;) But, because Richmond in 2019, you know, anything in 2020 doesn’t count. Just ask Kane. By the way, care to show me the Richmond v Port games played analysis?

Wtf is wrong with you lot, bunch of adults acting like ****ing children. Each side trying to point score with who's had it worse, grow the heck up and discuss a topic at hand without having to resort to shit.

But sirrr he started it, no he started it. Wahhhhh

Can't ****ing read or discuss a genuine topic without it resorting to actual shit.
