So Ticketmaster are wrong?

No, but there are a heap of "red" seats in Ticketmaster which aren't actually sold, because they're general admission seats. It's correct that we have about 2000 reserved seat places remaining in the Southern and Eastern stands, however there are still a buttload of spare seats up in the nosebleeds.

Do you know how many?

No way of telling, really. General Admission seats are about the top 1/3 of the Eastern stand top tier and the top 1/2 of the Southern top tier, by the looks. As for how many have been sold though, no way of telling.

I still think its pretty poor and embarrassing that Port are excited about averaging 30,000 to their home games!?!?
That means there will be 23,583 seats empty, definitely won't look great on TV.

When the new Perth Stadium opens in four years, they will be getting 60,000 each week to Freo & Eagles games, as both clubs have large waiting lists or ticketed memberships.

Don't get me wrong, it's great that Port are selling so many memberships but I don't get why your expectations are so low. The Crows should be expecting to average 45,000-50,000 for each game and surely Kochie & KT would be shattered if they can't average 35,000-40,000?

We averaged roughly 27,000 last year at AAMI stadium, I'm not sure where this predicted 30,000 figure came from but I'm certain it'll be significantly higher (I'd estimate 35-38k)

Under-promise, over-deliver.

Everything is pointing north for Port and hats off to them. Crowds are crucial for them though (and to be honest, it's crucial for SA footy). If nothing changes or only a minimal increase is achieved, then it's fair to say that they will be in trouble.

They have never had a better opportunity than now to increase their crowds. Everything is pointing in the right direction.

Of course, come August it could all go pear shaped.

It's about 11 game memberships that count and we aren't far off selling those out.

But yeah herp derp crows and pets pump up member numbers and poortz have no memberz

Take that crap to the bay.

You can't disgree. It's fact. Port's three game members are being pumped up by the showdown. Crows members are buying them. Do you think they will buy them next year?

You're kidding yourself if you think there's been more than a few thousand crows fans buying them.

I don't think that at all. But the novelty will eventually wear off. It seems Port also have many "sometimes" supporters, so this membership tally will be sustained as long as you're winning right?

Every club has them Including your own.

And the Crows don't? Do I need to remind you of your financials last year?

No because our freedom from the SANFL will actually mean that the Crows can now chase off field revenue which we were previously prevented from doing in the past.

If we had a gaming venue and a pub like Port have, I guarantee you that we wouldn't be losing 4,000,000 a year like Port are currently doing. Our license restrictions have given your mob a leg up financially over us for years, but hopefully now that we have control over our club that this will change.

The novelty will probably last as long as Port play well. What we do need is that whenever the next downward cycle occurs on field, that the base minimum is at least 7k more than the last one (ie bad weather, 2 win 12 loss season instead of 14k, worst case 21k, hopefully more in the 25k range but that's optimistic). It all boils down to what the new break even figure is.

Port need to push the gameday walkup factor that the crows wont be able to provide very often if at all. (that's a compliment not a sledge)

I saw this posted on the Redbacks facebook page today.

I've heard rumblings that they were behind schedule, but this pic has me worried. The seating in the Eastern stand isn't even half completed yet and there's essentially have a month before the Stones concert.

I don't see how on earth they are going to get it finished.

I reckon the seats will be all in in about 7-9 days, it only took about 12-14 days to finish the Riverbank stand seats.

They won't want to take much longer than that as they need to get the seat audit done & get our tickets to us before March 12, cos without our barcodes we can't buy tickets for the showdown.

Just for comparison, this was the riverbank stand 13 days out from the ashes, seating not fully installed and concrete on lower bowl not laid. It is 26 days until the stones and 34 days until the showdown.

Concrete had been laid, metal bars that the seats are placed on hadn't been placed yet, let alone the actual seats.

Concrete not fully in place on the 15th of November, around 3 weeks before the Ashes. Also, seating on the top tier probably less than 20% done.

Sorry my mistake, I was a few days out :)

Still, the point is, with less time they still had a lot of work to do before the massively tight deadline. I think they're ahead of where they were with the Riverbank stand, so I'm fairly confident all will be fine with the East.
