STATE OF PLAY:
  • The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
  • Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
  • Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
  • This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
  • Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

I'm wondering if there was really a PS5 version, I say this as normally the PS4 version is quite a downgrade compared to the PS5 however the one for this game appears to be the same.

Are the graphics better on the PS5 version? Does the PS5 copy have dualsense controls (haptic feedback, etc)? Is the PS5 smaller in size? Or how about performance?

I may be wrong, and please correct me if I am, however I think we PlayStation players only ever got a PS4 version of the game which was also simply released on the PS5 but not having any of the system upgrades. So is there even a reason to buy the PS5 copy compared to the PS4?

Massively different on PS5. The game is written for current gen Consoles and downgraded for previous Gen (less frame rate, lower resolution).

It has to play the same though, otherwise cross-gen and cross-play would not work.
 
Is there a preferred way I can upload videos to your bug report? I've tried but keeps giving me errors, even when making them extremely low quality and small in size
I sent 6 videos out, made around 2mb each. The second time I sent it as 1 compilation video that was 14mb.

The second time I tried to make a ticket, had some issues with it, so I just made 1 compilation video with text and suggestions included in the video. I eventually was able to get it through, it was initially just doing the recapcha over and over again.
 
BigAntStudios Is positioning eventually going to play a bigger part in marking contests? Atm it feels all about the timing which makes marking extremely easy.

Also think auto shrugging of tackles needs to be toned down a little bit, also making the game a bit too easy for myself.

Appreciate your work over the last week and a bit!
This will be in tonight's Steam patch.
 
Auto-Shrugging is one of my tickets, I'll close that bad boy for you guys
It will be further balanced as other elements are shown to be OP or UP.
 
BigAntStudios I understand the current priority for the team at the moment is gameplay, but just wondering if you are able to give some indication on how management mode will look in the future?

At the moment it is quite bare bones and doesn't really offer much depth in the management department.
I am just wondering:

-what key features do you see coming into the mode?

-how will state leauges play a part in the mode? Eg. Being able to see the performance of reserve players.

-will there be a training platform to improve player stat's?

-how will age effect player ratings? In previous WW titles, age had no effect on the players ratings and ability, and therefore provided no real incentive to bring in new kids from the draft and integrate them into the teams.

-how will team stat's effect performance?
Once again in previous titles, the ratings between the top and bottom teams made no real difference in difficulty. I would be able to win a premiership in year one with the worst rated team which once again made the draft and trading systems redundant. It would be great for it to be harder to player the top rated teams and easier to play the bottom rated teams, which at the moment has no impact.

Quick side note I am absolutely loving the commentary! Great work with that.

Marking feels very op rn with the timing. Played a game on hardest and still feels fairly easy to mark, maybe it has to do with the added vibration timing making it easier.

But overall the game has improved drastically which is great to see. Still some work to do but very optimistic

Yeah, doesn't seem to really matter where you're positioned, just as long as you press Y as soon as your controller vibrates. I have a feeling the dev team are aware of it and will make it harder.

I wonder what the game is like graphics wise compared from PS5 to PC. My CPU is almost 10 years old and it's running this game at 4K 60 FPS on highest settings. Really surprised it runs as good as it does.

As you can no doubt see, I'm happy to make an effort and appreciate all the efforts of you and your team over the last few weeks.Would it be possible to set up Custom Leagues with parameters so they could be used in a Season mode?
I have finished making all the teams for both the Spencer Gulf and Northern Areas leagues in Country South Australia and would love to put a league logo and custom umpire kits in.

It is my biggest gripe with the game right now. The AI can make some really nice plays and expose open areas which is great. But all of that is useless because I can take a mark nearly every time they pass it inside my def50.

Also makes spoiling obsolete because you can just mark it instead.

I'm hoping that a collision system is added to the marking contests as GoldbergsGold mentioned. I hope that combined with the stats and heights of players will have an impact and make marking contests feel more difficult and rewarding.
 
Are we able to watch and coach instead of play in Management Mode? I was hoping Sim Game didnt mean Quick Skip. I was hoping to watch the game as a coach? Is that an option? With tactics and changes for us (the coach) to make in game.

There are three main things I hope to see. A form system, player morale/confidence system and fatigue. With the combination of these 3 things it would actually make sense to pick younger players rather than just picking the best 23 available rated players and make squad management an integral part to going all the way each season.

Hoping that when state leagues are added you're able to see the results of the reserve matches which could influence who comes in and out of the team every week and would also influence the three factors above.

Also hope it impacts how easy it is to control a player. For example a player that is "out of form" may have a much smaller timing window for marking.

Pressure gauge hud, too, and a wind hud I suggested to the staff at coin tosses.

One tiny thing that bugs me far more than it should..

When you pick the ball up near your goal line and end up crossing the line and the commentators make it sound like you rushed it over on purpose!
