top 8 is highly competitive.. sydney wouldn't want to be relying on a big run to start when Mills/Gulden get back.. questions still remain on their backline and forwards... hardly a lock... BRISBANE, HAWKS, GWS, GEELONG, PIES, GOLD coast look 6 definately in.....

i'd have Freo ahead of sydney right now.. leaves 1 spot for the pack of sydney/adelaide/stkilda/bulldogs and even to a lesser extent essendon/port but they are prob longshots

Agree with this.

Freo look like they will win enough games for him to contend.

Has history, top 5 in 2022. Once Freo stopped trying to play him as an outside mid/wing role he came home strong with 17 votes in the last 10 games last year.

Not looking like Cripps' year and Daicos hasn't started as strong but we know nick can go on a run that anyone not names Patrick Cripps can't come close to.

They are a very good team. Don't judge the quality of the opposition. Judge their quality of play for me.

You're high on recency bias.

Richmond were lined at 2.5 wins going into the season, West Coast 5.5.

Richmond similarly started last year respectably, sitting 15th after 5 games with 1 win and a percentage of 79.5, they won 1 game for the rest of the year and finished last with a percentage of 63.4

They've overperformed, West Coast have underperformed; Richmond have no depth either, and will struggle more than any other team as the injuries begin to pile up over what is a long 23 game season.

Melbourne were 2nd (4W-1L) after round 5 last year, after finishing top 4 in the 3 previous seasons - no one would have seen them dropping off like they did at that point.

Carlton were 4th (4W-0L), after having made it to the final 4 the previous year.

Everyone pretty much looks like locks for the top 8/ top 4 when their comfortably sitting there, doesn't mean that's where they end up.

I just think if your Gold Coast losing last night was a bit of a shock to the system but they won't lose sleep over it. Damien Hardwick in the past mentioned as coach, that he hated playing there.

Also Finals (big matches that count for something) aren't played at Marvel. Didnt watch last nights game but it may have been a bit of a 'letdown' spot with the Q Clash next week.

Playing in the tropical climates of Gold Coast/Darwin and Marvel under the roof are two worlds apart. I say good luck if you look to oppose the Suns this year.
