So you're not gonna watch footy any more? You're gonna stop supporting your team? Coz a player was on the bench with a few minutes to go?

In the long run the league continues to grow, has more engagement, and Chief rakes in the $$$ day after day with plebs like us complaining about everything.

92k at the MCG this afternoon suggests everything you say is absolute rubbish.

Well, The big marks, players kicking bags are a rarity to begin with, so it’s a rare chance to see a player kick ten goals. I’ve been this way for a while though, that the game was better when it was more open and less rugby tackle-test, congested. The game style peaked in the 90s/00s and it’s becoming more clinical and dull, in my opinion.

It’s still alright, but the excitement for the game decreases over time because the things that make the game unique and exciting become so rare. Some might call it evolved, it all depends on your own outlook.

There is no reason to bench a player on 9 goals and 3 minutes left unless they are injured. It would have never happened in the era of the forwards.

this carry on about the thwarted ten by C7/Fox is getting very fatigued. Nine is still an amazing nine, it's a great effort. A few bits of cheek towards Horse but now time to move on folks and celebrate the bag it is.
Yep. Nine Goal Joel’s had issues with injury and I suspect with the game well won, they didn’t want to see him pop something just for sentimental reasons.

It’s an overrated roster anyway. Bunch of small forwards, very little in the midfield, Rankine can’t win 60 possessions himself, him and Dawson are the only ones that hurt you. The midfield is a HUGE issue
It’s a really bad list, and the problems are across all lines.

How Lachie Murphy is on an AFL list, let alone playing every week is beyond me.

For mine he’s the standout, but there are so many pretty high picks on the list that are these mid-sized sort of players who bring f-all… Chase Jones, Schoenberg, Cook, Fogarty, Milera, Sholl, and Rachele (who is surely heading back to Vic within the next few years).

I wonder, can they really all be bad picks, or does the club just systematically break good young players?

Hard to see any finals action for the
Adelaide FC for a long time.

Petty may not be playing that well but one thing I know is he isn't having Amartey kick 9 on him 😉

Those two firsts might actually be on the table still out of desperation

Matthew Nicks complaining about byes in his presser when his team get an extra home game. Dumb.

pretty poor game from the swans, really only Grundy and Armartey who played really well, Heaney was fine, everyone else below their best. Weird game.
I hate to think what the Swans are capable of when they are on song for four quarters.

Rankine has sort of worked out but it’s very strange that Adelaide want every single small forward maybe midfielder. The fact that Laird is anywhere near the third best mid should be alarm bells…and nowadays to win you need to bat 7-8 even 10 deep in the middle. There’s barely 3 and that’s if you include Soligo.

How Murphy has got 100 games ill never know the bloke runs around like a headless chook for 4 quarters…and he’s somehow in the leadership group!

Yeah, recruiting has been puzzling. I look at the Swans list with envy. My thinking is that culture is a big part of it and that Adelaide needs to start again, on and off the field.

BTW, your mention of headless chooks reminded me i left McHenry off the initial list. Another that’s not even close to an AFL footballer.
