Absolutely wasted it. We never addressed the forward line issue after last year. That’s just one issue. But predominantly it’s the way we continually enter our 50 in terms of how and where we kick it, and also our skill level for our midfield. It’s not particularly polished.

We are one paced and getting predictable.
JVR looks like he will make it. You really need another key forward though as McDonald seems past it.

I’d be chasing the best one you can get your hands on in the draft & maybe even a stop gap. Not sure who would be available though, Jack Darling?

If he'd go that's a great shout for both clubs. Eagles get some much needed draft capital, Demons get a very good KPF right in their window.

We need to sort out the way we not just deliver the ball but the midfield arrangement. We are getting predictable and one paced. It’s pretty clear that it Oliver is curtailed at a stoppage that we become easy to run away from. But it’s not just that, why has Langdon become virtually obsolete? Because we aren’t winning stoppages anymore and releasing him.

The whole way we set up is not working. We could improve our midfield and still get a bit out of our KF. Brown is also injured, we need him as a change player to Tom McDonald. I’d prioritise some key midfield players first, and put pressure on same same types like Viney, Sparrow, Harmes.

It’s also coaching. Goodwin won’t adapt nor minimise our weaknesses and play to our strengths. We should be looking at Richmond’s philosophy; accept the group we have and play to the strength of them. We are best as a chaotic mad rabble of forwards, absolute pressure induced mayhem. Petracca doesn’t defend, he is a front half weapon like Martin. We stone wall our defence and get a fast game on from HB.

We aren’t far off seeing Max Gawn begin a decline. Losing Jackson was not what we needed. It’s nigh on impossible to get another Gawn. We should be looking at that De Koning ruckman from Carlton. Be great to get Darling for 12-24 months. Ben McKay even worth a look as a May replacement if Petty is to play forward, where I think he is best.

Yeah, Melbourne fans that think they've been s**t the last two weeks need to have a word. There's only 3 other teams I don't think we'd have smashed today performing like that, Melbourne would correctly be the 4th. They're still a very, very good side.

We are not a very very good side.

Great win by Freo - both teams played a really hard contested brand of football. Freo took more of their chances, Melbourne didn't, really just as simple as that.

Has Wonnermeri (sp) been seen around Melbourne ?. His image invokes nightmares !!.

Even game, Freo have found 3rd gear. Melbourne seem to be driving a manual car, with automatic technique.

Depending on if the driving instructors arrive on time, Freo by 7 points.

Not bad for “throw away” comments.

I’ll pat myself on the back and return to my grassy knoll.
